Walter Elias “Walt” Disney (December 5, 1901 – December 15, 1966) was an American film producer, director, screenwriter, voice actor, animator, entrepreneur, entertainer, international icon, and philanthropist. Disney is famous for his influence in the field of entertainment during the 20th century. As the co-founder (with his brother Roy O. Disney) of Walt Disney Productions, Disney became one of the best-known motion picture producers in the world. The corporation he co-founded, now known as The Walt Disney Company, today has annual revenues of approximately U.S. $35 billion.

Disney is particularly noted for being a film producer and a popular showman, as well as an innovator in animation and theme park design. He and his staff created some of the world's most famous fictional characters including Mickey Mouse, a character for which Disney himself was the original voice. He has been awarded four honorary Academy Awards and has won twenty-two competitive Academy Awards out of fifty-nine nominations, including a record four in one year, giving him more awards and nominations than any other individual. He also won seven Emmy Awards. He is the namesake for Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort theme parks in the United States, as well as the international resorts Tokyo Disney, Disneyland Paris, and Disneyland Hong Kong.

Disney died of lung cancer in Burbank, California, on December 15, 1966. The following year, construction began on Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. His brother Roy Disney inaugurated the Magic Kingdom on October 1, 1971.

The Walt Disney Company (NYSE: DIS) (commonly referred to as Disney) is the largest media and entertainment conglomerate in the world in terms of revenue. Founded on October 16, 1923, by brothers Walt Disney and Roy Disney as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, the company was reincorporated as Walt Disney Productions in 1929. Walt Disney Productions established itself as a leader in the American animation industry before diversifying into live-action film production, television, and travel. Taking on its current name in 1986, The Walt Disney Company expanded its existing operations and also started divisions focused upon theatre, radio, publishing, and online media. In addition, it has created new divisions of the company in order to market more mature content than it typically associates with its flagship family-oriented brands.

The company is best known for the products of its film studio, the Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group, today one of the largest and best-known studios in Hollywood. Disney also owns and operates the ABC broadcast television network; cable television networks such as Disney Channel, ESPN, and ABC Family; publishing, merchandising, and theatre divisions; and owns and licenses 11 theme parks around the world. On January 23, 2006, it was announced that Disney would purchase Pixar in an all-stock transaction worth $7.4 billion. The deal was finalized on May 5. On December 31, 2009, Disney Company acquired the Marvel Entertainment, Inc. for $4.24 billion. The company has been a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average since May 6, 1991. An early and well-known cartoon creation of the company, Mickey Mouse, is the official mascot of The Walt Disney Company.

A summerized short storirs about disney movies.
The book is really beautiful and funny and it is useful to be read as a bedtime stories for kids before sleeping

Content: Clean

I've read a handful of these stories over the years. Did a few today and I think I'll pass it on. There are a few that are the original stories... ish. But I didn't feel they were good renditions. Then there were others that had the characters but not necessarily the movie stories.

However, the style of artwork is cute. I think a kiddo would still enjoy it. So I'll pass my copy off to someone.

I've now read most of the stories to my 3 year old son. Overall I'm just not a fan of this collection. I don't like the art work, and found many stories to not be very engaging.

This book provides a great summary of 17 of Pixar’s movies, from “Toy Story” through “Funding Dory”, giving the essential elements of each narrative.

I’m listing it because I’ve probably read this through 2-3 times at this point.

Technically, I haven't read this book yet, but I have browsed all the pictures with Natalie. Some of the stories are great retellings of the movies, but others are substanard new stories. Some of the good ones are Wall-E, Cars, Up, Finding Nemo, and the Incredibles. The biggest disappointment was Monster's Inc. Toy Story was also not the orginal story, but the one I read was still good. Cars is three stories, one new and the first movie broken into two parts. I was hoping this would be as good as our other Disney collection, but its not. But, even though I was disappointed, Natalie is not at all.

I use this book to read my nephews bedtime stories when they visit. At ages 4 and 5, they love it. Many of the stories are just summary versions of the movies. Those are just OK to me; fitting 90 - 120 minutes worth of content into a story that can be read in 5 - 10 minutes is not idea. The stories I really like in this book are the ones that are actual short stories, like "Red's Tune-Up Blues" with the characters from Cars. I would have rated this book higher if all the stories had been true short stories, because they flow better and make for more interesting reading for the adult doing the reading.

Each of the 17 stories in this volume is basically a short summary of a Disney/Pixar film.

The stories rely heavily on the reader being familiar with each of these movies, and really do not stand up on their own if you are not familiar with the source material.

On the plus side there are many small illustrations throughout the book and the text is written in a large, easy to read font.

My 5-year-old enjoyed it. Each story is a synopsis of the movie. I hadn't seen "Finding Dory" and that one felt particularly disjointed and synopsisy rather than storyish. For the movies I've seen, my memory filled in the missing bits so it was easier to forgive the summary effect. It is a fun read out loud book for kids though and the pictures are engaging.

Another good collection of various Disney stories. They are great for bedtime stories. We are big fans of these collections. Short enough to hold the attention of a child, but long enough to require listening/imagination.

Absolutely love any stories that get my little guy into reading more with me. We had a goal to read a story a day out of this besides the other stories that I read to my kiddos and we made it! Love reading with my little ones!
