It's important to remember that the Christian life is not a sprint but a marathon. We are to run with endurance the race set before us. This is an encouraging book about trusting God and waiting on Him to deliver us.

I enjoyed this book. Some heavy Christian topics were discussed which are too little discussed from the pulpit. Here are some examples:
He maintains there has been a silent divorce in the church between the word and the spirit.
Why does God allow evil?
Unanswered prayer is an opportunity to get to know God’s ways.
Do you feel you are finished? That it is over for you?
Why God puts obstacles in our way?
When God allows a trial it means He hasn’t finished with us yet.
The mystery of prayer
Seven things he knows for sure about prayer.
Have you lived long enough to thank God for unanswered prayer?
Knowing you are saved is the beginning of finishing well.
The permissive will of God- What is the difference between what God causes and what he permits?
As you can see he addresses some topics that are thought about but barely mentioned. This is the second book of Kendall’s that I have read. Again he humbly sincerely writes about his life experiences so that we may glean wisdom from them. I appreciate this quality about him. Mainly this book covers some hard topics to encourage the Christian to persevere for answered prayers and miracles in your life. These hard topics can be road blocks in the Christian’s life. This book is mostly about not giving up.

I got this book for free through a FirstReads Giveaway and was encouraged, but not required to post a review.

The Good: As a person who constantly has questions about things (particularly religion and prayer), this book was very helpful. More helpful, at least, than my Sunday School teacher when I asked why we prayed the Rosary in honor of Mary when God can heal the sick and we're not supposed to pray to anyone but Him. (She said, by the way, "Because. Ask your Mother.") Kendall not only answered questions, but then brought up more questions and followed up with even more answers backed up with Scripture and anecdotes. I felt like I was learning, and loved it.

The Questionable: Kendall was not shy in name dropping his own books. That's not so much a problem but then he'd hit me with something like "The people passing by may have said a sinner's prayer". The Emphasis is original. Kendall wrote it like that and then just kept going without telling me what a sinner's prayer was or where to find out.

The Bad: The whole thing is written like a sermon. I understand why, and I understand that adding lines that say [to paraphrase] "Have I mentioned It ain't over Til it's Over?" When he has already mentioned it about 20 times and we're only on page 30. Repetition is a strong tool to use when speaking orally. But it doesn't translate well for the same reason some people have trouble reading the bible: It's meant to be heard, not read. It got annoying after a while.

Overall: A great book, if you can get past reading the title over and over and over again.

I rarely give a book 5 stars, but this book encouraged me, taught me, and inspired me. It is so easy to give up when praying, seemingly without an answer. Kendall gives some answers and comments on this, but is especially helpful in opening up his own life - I think that was what inspired me most. I am lending it out, and getting great comeback.

I won this in a goodreads giveaway. I was drawn to this book because I love reading about miracles, especially miracles involving health, but this book just didn't work for me. I was never able to really connect with it or get into.
