Katie McLaughlin has just escaped one bad relationship and isn't looking for a new one when she's shipwrecked on a deserted island with rich guy Scott Vanderhorne. Naturally they fall in love and get married "in God's eyes" before returning to civilization, where his father tries to bribe her to leave him and is ex-fiancee is claiming she's pregnant with his baby. I felt bad for Scott at that point, since his parents are actively trying to destroy his new relationship and he's supposedly having a baby with a woman he doesn't love (never mind the woman he does love, who is actually having his baby). Personally, I think that Katie fleeing the country to get away from Scott is a bit much, but it does make for an emotional reunion.
