Rate this book
Eleventh Hour:When FBI agent Dane Carver's twin brother, Father Michael Joseph, is brutally murdered in his San Francisco church, husband-and-wife agents Lacey Sherlock and Dillon Savich take a personal interest in the investigation. Then Nicola "Nick" Jones, a homeless woman and the only witness to the shooting, is scared out of her mind because she is trying to hide from her own monsters—who are drawing closer and closer.

Blindside:When six-year-old Sam Kettering is kidnapped and then manages to save himself, Savich and Sherlock join his father—former FBI agent Miles Kettering—to determine why Sam would be abducted and brought to eastern Tennessee. Though the local sheriff, Katie Benedict, catches up with Sam before the kidnappers do, the case isn’t over—not by a long shot.

Blowout:A long weekend in the Poconos is cut short when Sherlock and Savich are helicoptered back to Washington to lead the investigation into the brutal murder of a Supreme Court Justice. Savich allows Callie Markham, an investigative reporter for the Washington Post, to partner with local Metro Police liaison Ben Raven, since she’s got the inside track—she’s the stepdaughter of the murdered justice.

I am enjoying this series and am up to #12 or 13 now. Love the way she adds new characters so the "family" of FBI folks keeps growing as do the associated characters. She keeps you turning the pages and sometimes I figure out part of the mysteries but I never quite get it all figured out as the twists and turns are fascinating.

So sorry, everyone, but I just am not the kind of person who sees the benefit in reading contrived mysteries, so please forgive me and be tolerant. It's either a suffering brilliant detective who screwed up his lifestyle before, after, or during his detecting, or some eternally, uber-affectionate perfect couple with beauty, brains, athleticism, or whatever you want to award them. I tired of the twists and turns, I had figured one person at fault in the beginning, and finally, while realizing the denouement, I was right. There was a sub-plot, unconnected, that was a waste of time; why did we need it? The crimes of the main plot and the sub-plot were solved in a matter of days. How about that? OK, mystery fans, don't be angry, but it is a matter of taste, and I don't have it.
