i read something in this book is true… shortly after finishing bob frissell’s nothing in this book is true, but it’s exactly how things are. while it was a good read, it didn’t have quite the same impact as the first one. after reading the first book, i had already started using it as a map to explore these subjects on my own, diving deeper into the concepts and doing my own research. that meant that by the time i approached the second book, some of its “revelatory” power had lessened.
that said, it still offers interesting insights and practical exercises, and it’s enjoyable to see frissell expand on the ideas from the first book. for anyone new to his work, it’s a strong companion, but for those who’ve already explored these concepts, it’s more of a reinforcement than a breakthrough.
This book is empirical evidence that there are people who will believe absolutely anything regardless of whether or not there is any empirical evidence for their beliefs. I do believe I could sell this guy the Brooklyn Bridge.
