Lovely Christabel, the Marchioness of Haversham, is desperate to regain some personal correspondence—so desperate that she pretends to be the mistress of notorious gaming club owner Gavin Byrne, in order to attend a scandalous house party hosted by the man holding her letters. But when she agreed to let Byrne coach her on how a true mistress behaves, she never suspected how very… appealing his wicked lessons would be.
Secretly determined to find the letters before Christabel, so he can use them to avenge a childhood tragedy, Gavin can’t help but be delighted at his pupil’s performance with regard to his “mistress lessons.” It won’t be long before the luscious widow is in his bed. Ultimately, though, will love or revenge triumph?

Wow! What an utterly delightful gem this turned out to be! I absolutely loved, loved, loved it!
One Night With a Prince is such a fun, sexy, witty, steamy, entertaining, emotional, and engaging romance, and the H/h make a saucy, amusing, and unforgettable couple with magnetic chemistry in spades. “Prince of Sin” Gavin Byrne reminded me a little of Derek Craven from Dreaming of You by Lisa Kleypas (one of my all-time favorite romantic heroes) because of his brutal, impoverished upbringing, rise to success as a wealthy, powerful gaming club owner, and tarnished, cynical soul, but Gavin’s a bit more affable, devilish, and teasing, especially when it comes to seduction. And feisty, brave, spirited, temperamental, loyal, and kindhearted Christabel, who dares make him feel and yearn for things he doesn’t believe in, is his perfect, explosive match.
I’m usually a stickler for reading books in order, but I’m glad I made an exception for this because it would have been a real shame to delay enjoying such a wonderful romance. Now I’m looking forward to reading the first two books in the series and more by this author. Big 5, scandalously sinful stars!
(3.75 stars, but as a personal rule, I round down.)
One Night with a Prince was a really engrossing read. I was only a few pages in when I found myself getting swept away by the potent sexual tension between Byrne and Christabel. Damn. This book was hot as hell, I tell you.
The writing was great—as expected from Ms. Sabrina Jeffries—and the characters were likeable. Christabel's definitely my idea of an amazing heroine. Strong-willed, kick-ass, and fierce, she wasn't scared of fighting for what she wanted. I appreciated the fact that she did her best to resist Byrne—that she knew herself well enough to understand that Byrne and her want different things. Heck, if I was in her position I would have given in. Byrne was just so fucking sexy, goddammit. But the fact that she did do her best to say no to him made me respect her.
While I immediately took a shine to Christabel, I had a hard time liking Byrne. It's really hard not to compare him with Derek from Dreaming of You. You see, although they do have a lot of similarities, they differ in one important aspect: Derek tried his best to resist Sara, whereas Byrne selfishly pursued Christabel to slake his lust. And this annoyed me during the first few chapters. Don't get me wrong. I understand why Byrne was like that, and I do agree that he was merely acting consistent to how he was established in the story. But still, I find it difficult to appreciate a guy who's just interested in getting in your pants.
As the story went on, however, I started liking him. Especially when he realised his true feelings for Christabel. It's just that I wished that it happened sooner in the story, and not in the last couple of chapters. That made the romance less convincing. In the end, I can't honestly say that I believe in their love 100%.
Another issue I had is this: I'm not okay with the idea of Christabel and Byrne using sex to manipulate each other. Christabel did that twice, when she forced Byrne to admit that he was jealous, and when she forced him to tell her why she was "different from his other mistresses". Byrne, on the other hand, tried to seduce her so that she'd spill the beans about the letters.
Ugh. I'm sorry, but I don't think manipulation could ever be a part of a healthy relationship.
Overall, I really loved this story. I definitely recommend this for people who want a sexy, romantic read.
P.S. Yes, I know that his first name is Gavin, but seeing as he's called "Byrne" by most characters in the book, I thought that it's just fitting to follow suit.
I really loved this book! I won't get into the plot, as GR has done a good job of describing it, except that the hero and heroine pretend to be lovers so they can get into a house party in the country and steal some letters from their host.
I really liked the way Jeffries described how their initial attraction transformed from lust to love. They started to know each other better, came to care and then fell in love. It was realistic and it was done in a good pace. In fact, everything was timed as it should be; no overlong misunderstandings, not withholding of emotions, no delay to aknowledge them. The main characters were both clever and for once, acted like that. No silly risks, no stupid arguments, nothing. And I loved how the heroine handled some rough moments without aplomb. In fact the heroine is one of the best I've read about and the hero pretty yummy himself.
Also, their attraction was palpable from page one; I could feel the heat coming off the pages. There was also emotion, some humor and a nice subplot about the stolen letters that kept the interest high all the time.
I really have nothing negative to say for this book. It became a keeper for me and now I want to try more of Jeffries' books.
Since the beginning I just knew that Gavin will fall for Christabel! LOL
And he has a very good reason to! Christabel is a very good heroine: she's ready to do everything to save her father and, as a by blow, the regent. She's compassionate too and she soon realizes that Gavin's thirst for vengance is what makes him bitter and unfeeling.
When she glimpses Gavin's soul, she falls for him too and manages to redeam him with only logic. It was brilliantly done!
I appreciated also her ability to protect herself !!!
Gavin is also an interesting hero. His hate towards Prinny is a force of nature, but slowly, with Cristabel's help he comes to realize that having revenge is not worth his whole future! I appreciated that he menaged to overcome his desire for ruin Prinny in an adult way!
There's no misunderstand here between hero and heroine: all is done with logical explanations and adult discussion!
Also the attraction between them felt real and hot! :)
Epsilon acilen serilere yakışan kapaklarla yeni Sabrina romanları bassın lütfen!
This is my third Sabrina Jeffries book, and by far my favorite! I loved both the hero and the heroine in this one. Usually, there is one of the main characters that I like more, but this time around I couldn't have made a choice between the two! Christabel was a breath of fresh air! She didn't care what society thought about her, only about doing what was right. I particularly liked that she was ready, willing, and able to defend herself. And Gavin. Gavin. Sure he was ruthless, but he had every reason to be that way. I really hated Prinny in this one.
Of course, in the end they get their HEA! I will definitely be checking out this author again, and highly recommending this book!
One Night With A Prince, the final book in the Royal Brotherhood trilogy, was wickedly delicious, brimming with scandal, and starred a hero that was devilishly handsome and sinfully charming... 5 stars!!!!
The first time Gavin Byrne met Christabel she shot at him and put a hole in his hat and in his cabriolet. She was unlike any other woman Gavin had met. She was tough and didn't let people run over her and she stood her ground. But once she and Gavin made a deal to be partners in retrieving some secret letters, Gavin decided he wanted her in his bed and he wouldn't take no for an answer.
Christabel resisted Gavin's advances the best that she could. But he was so incredibly tempting and he was relentless in his decision to have her. But she was so afraid that being in his bed would not be enough, she knew she would want more, need more, but she also knew that Gavin was notorious for having mistress after mistress and could never be faithful to just her.
Gavin and Christabel were so funny together. They drove each other insane! She thought him to be the very devil and he thought she had been hiding behind her widow's weeds for far too long. Their banter was entertaining and their attraction to each other was powerful. Their need and longing for each other practically leapt from the pages and I couldn't read it fast enough!
Excellent end to the series that I have thoroughly enjoyed.. it is not to be missed!!
This the third book in Sabrina Jeffries's "Royal Brotherhood Series", One Night With A Prince is the first and only one I’ve read so far in that series. A regency, this is Gavin Byrne’s story- one of the bastard son’s of The Prince of Wales.
Never acknowledged by his royal father, Byrne pulled himself up from the slums of England to be a wealthy and powerful owner of a gambling club....
Okay, we’ve seen that before, (LISA KLEYPAS) but I must admit I found I liked this tale.
The heroine is Lady Christabel Haversham who for all intents and purposes is a rather extraordinary woman for the time period this book is set in. Widowed, she’s no shrinking violet and, as in the other regency I’ve read by Jeffries, she comes off a little too modern.
However, Jeffries has a way of making her characters so likeable, the inconsistencies are easily brushed aside, as far as I’m concerned.
Here’s the gist of the story:
Christabel needs the help of the renowned womanizer Gavin Byrne to gain entrance into a whist tournament held by the man she suspects has incendiary documents that would upset the ascension line of the English Crown- documents once owned by herself that were sold off by her now dead wastrel of a husband.
Gavin is more than happy to assist- if only to gain the documents for his own means of bringing down his father, Ol’ Prinny- The Prince of Wales.
Of course things don’t go exactly as either planned but the way it all resolves- along with the HEA they both gain in the process- kept the pages turning throughout the novel.
I found ONWAP to be a fun, fast read, but it’s not one of those that I would turn to as a re-read, I think. (There’s always something about Jefferies work that feels lacking in depth, at times and this one was no exception.)
I've never understood why romance novels leading men were always loudly proclaiming that they preferred their women willing, when it is clear they don't know how to take no for an answer. Am I supposed to be impressed that the man is not quite an outright rapist, even if he thinks nothing of lying to, manipulating, or otherwise coercing a woman into his bed? Even if we ignore the nuances of consent, of which there aren't many, why am I supposed to ignore a man forcing himself on a woman begging him to stop, just because he happens to arouse her body or bring her to orgasm?
Gavin Bryne is a callous, manipulative, selfish bastard. And he doesn't take no for an answer. Maybe I am meant to find him dangerous and exciting, but mostly he seems to be the Paris Hilton of society, without any of Paris's humanity. But perhaps I am being too harsh on Paris Hilton.
Its difficult, if not impossible, to like the lead in this book. I could handle him being bitter and jaded, but he doesn't have the emotional depth to qualify as such. He meets our heroine and promptly propositions her, and when she says he isn't interested, he tells her that becoming his mistress is the only way he will agree to help her. It doesn't matter to him that he's been offered a barony-- and with it, the sort of legitimacy he has wanted his entire life. It's kind of appalling that Byrne does his best to coerce Christabel into having sex with him when she already said no. Naturally, she is willing to let him paw at her if it is the only way to ensure his assistance, and Byrne sulkily assures her that he prefers his women willing and will not insist on access to her body.
So he isn't an unapologetic rapist. He doesn't seem to realise that blackmailing a woman into sex is still rape. And he makes up his mind to seduce her and have her be his mistress in truth, while also plotting to steal her lost property for his own so that he can use it against his father.
Christabel is actually a very likeable heroine, although perhaps she has more spirit than sense. She keeps a gun in her purse and adopts wounded soldiers as her household servants. I liked that she was a widow, and not as naive or idealistic as some young women, and I liked even more that she was a little jaded.
What disturbs me the most about this book is Christabel's inability to say no. This isn't a weakness in her character, but a result of her situation. Letters belonging to her father have fallen out of her possession, and the Prince is being blackmailed with them. If the letters are made public as the blackmailer threatens, her father could be hanged for treason and the Prince could lose his regency. The fate of her country, her father's livelihood, and her own reputation lie in the balance.... And Byrne will not help her unless she has sex with him. Under the circumstances, she is under enormous pressure to get those letters back. Byrne may not be in possession of all the facts, but that hardly matters. He makes demands of her, and Christabel has to comply or her father might be hanged.
Creepy, isn't it?
Byrne pretends to be a hedonist who wants mutual pleasure and no obligations with his mistress, which is a tolerable stance for a rake. Unfortunately he is completely ignorant of human nature- it doesn't occur to him that his lifestyle isn't suited for everyone, or that a person might want obligations. Christabel tells him no and he withholds his help, she tells him not to flirt with her and he kisses her to teach her a lesson. He insists on playing card games for clothing, then gets angry when she wins. And most appallingly-- he gets her naked and orgasmic, and is furious with her when she returns the favour without letting him penetrate her.
To be clear: after she has the first and only orgasm of her life, Christabel jerks him off (not because she wants to, but because she knows he won't be put off any other way). And he is angry with her, because she "tricked" him into coming in her hand instead of her vagina. She had already told him that she didn't want to have sex with him, several times. That same night she said she wouldn't have sex with him no matter who won their card game. But when she lets him take her clothing off, he assumes that she is consenting to sex. Not just once, but as many times as he wants her. And when she dares to assert her boundaries, he is furious with her.
I suppose I should be kinder to him. He was trying to seduce her, after all. Maybe he was angry that his seduction was less effective than he had thought. Its hard to be kind to Byrne because he is such an unlikable character: he likes Christabel's body and wants to fuck her, but he is simultaneously planning on betraying her, stealing from her, and discarding her when he is done... And he doesn't understand why she doesn't want him. Being good in bed is not an adequate substitute for being a good person. Its difficult to understand how he could have gone his entire life so far without realizing that other people put stock in trust, affection, and comfort. furthermore, he acts like a tantruming toddler whenever he is denied something he wants.
The plot was overly contrived and required a lot of suspension of disbelief, but it was at least interesting. The villain is predictably one-dimensional, lacking in any nuance or deeper motivation.
The scene with Byrne's past lovers gossiping about him was particularly hard to swallow, because it was an obvious, and poorly executed, ploy to underline how special and unique Christabel is. Not to mention, an unsubtle attempt to convince the reader and Christabel that Byrne has real, deep feelings, rather than a tawdry sexual connection as he had with previous women. Byrne spends the night with Christabel because he is jealous and possessive, not because he expresses any tenderness in the aftermath of their lovemaking. He calls her "darling". And I am meant to believe that the man has real feelings because of those rather sparse signs of affection, despite knowing he is eagerly anticipating betraying their agreement when he has finished using her for his own ends.
Later in the book we discover that he has the occasional kind whim, such as lying to procure a job for a girl. He also has his mother secreted away in a lavish home. He has tiny bits of good in him... But it is too little, too late. When Christabel trusts him with the contents of the letter, he is so gleeful about his plans for revenge. And he seriously doesn't care about the lives of the people he intends to ruin. He doesn't care that he will throw the entire country into turmoil, ruin one family and tear apart two others. He wants revenge, and not even Christabel is enough to sway him.
His abrupt about face is, in the end, not the kind of character growth that would have made a difference to me. Giving up his revenge was never what he needed to do: that made him a less hateful person but not a better man.
What Gavin Byrne needed to do to earn my respect was to admit that women, regardless of their status, have worth. He assures Christabel that she is not a whore-- after all, she is not poor. Christabel logically points out that, street walker or courtesan, a whore is a woman who exchanges her favours for money. Their argument highlights everything that is wrong with this novel--- he in turns berates her, bullies her, then attempts to humiliate and degrade her. What he had to learn was not that Christabel is a special snowflake worthy of his love, he needed to realize that no woman deserves to be called (or treated like) a whore.
The ending was trite and not really worth the slog through this terrible novel. If I didn't know this book was the third book written in this series, I would have thought it was the first book Jeffries had ever written. I can't even recommend the book for writing style or prose-- there are such awful, florid descriptions that i found myself rolling my eyes. None of the side characters show any of the vivacity I had come to expect from the previous two novels, so this book was a complete wash. I would give it no stars if i could.

Man, this was good! I love Byrne, with all his cynical, wicked, yet intriguing ways. Christabel was a force to be reckoned with as well. I appreciated her backbone, her skill with weapons, and her ability to tell Byrne like it was. And the chemistry in this novel, you guys!!!! It was so good! I just love Sabrina Jeffries' style. The side plot where Christabel and Byrne searched for the letters was intriguing, but really, I was just in this for the romance. I usually dislike books where the heroine is the mistress of the hero, but it helped that their arrangement started out as just pretend. I had a tiny issue with Byrne sometimes being a little childish and manipulative, but since both of these things was acknowledged by the characters(and really, Byrne was mostly all talk when it came to Christabel anyway), it didn't bother me too much.
This book was definitely my favorite in the series. I loved these characters, the chemistry between them, and the whole plot revolving around going to a rather wicked house party to find letters Christabel's father had in his possession that could see him hanged, as well as damage the prince. Also, there was a lot of whist in this book. I now wish I knew how to play. I feel another Sabrina Jeffries marathon coming on, that's for sure. It'll be hard to top this couple, though.
Thanks a lot to Cheryl, whose beautiful review made me finally start this amazing book!
When I first had this one, I thought hell, another rake’s story with a hero who must love to disrupt female sensibilities with his sometimes corny unremorseful flirtatious skills, who gambles emotions away with an excuse of an unacceptable tortured past. But God I was so gloriously wrong! I might have just outlined the story’s one subtle version, but I skipped the part where I shall mention the magical talent of story-telling of the brilliant and artistic Ms Jeffries.
I ended up reading this book non-stop, turning page after page, intaking the soft musical writing, only to enjoy the priceless witty dialogues with a well-brought-up story-line and characters that shouted authenticity and made me smile and forget I have a very busy schedule of a week coming up!
Christabel, the Marchioness of Haversham, is a widow who must retrieve some important letters she possessed previously which her late husband gambled away to a practiced gambler without her knowledge. She must get access to his house for a gambling party, where she believes she could find the letters. Only if she is a celebrated gambler or a mistress/lover/wife of a gambler can she get an invitation to this scandalous party. Reluctantly, circumstances make her approach Gavin Byrne to be his fake mistress, whom she once shot at, years ago, in an attempt to save her husband from debtors. Gavin Byrne is the notorious owner of a successful gaming-club, always scoring with ladies and having a parade of ex and future mistresses all over the place.
A man about town, Gavin finds the situation pleasantly agreeable with him with slight alterations. Oh yes, he would definitely help the pretty widow who wrinkles her nose in the prospect of sharing his bed and considers it a ‘work’. But, he would make her his real mistress and he would get hold of these letters himself to avenge his mother’s sufferings and take revenge against the Prince who sired and abandoned him years ago.
The conflict of interests leads them exactly where we want them to be. These two are the most perfect pairs I’ve seen in HRs. Gavin is a charmingly bogus scoundrel and a tremendous flirt with a very matured heart and determined pairs of eyes on target. Christabel is an intelligent, strong, sweet heroine with a very kind yet resolute mind. Together they were priceless! The dialogues and the banters these two had were precious and will alone readily make you give this book a 5-star rating. Gavin was a hands down seducer with a silver tongue and a heroic ability to know what will melt or give away Christabel’s resolve against him only to gift us some sizzling hot love scenes. The way he handled her and his transformation of emotion towards her with changes of events throughout the book was unbelievably dreamy. There was no way Christabela could stop herself from falling in love with him. Not to mention the way this strong hero loved her and redeemed himself. That episode was another masterpiece.
An incredibly romantic story, this book is a keeper. Those who love historical romances, and haven’t read this one yet, PLEASE, do read it. You won’t be disappointed. A very satisfied, sigh-worthy 5 stars for this book is a must for me.
4 stars.... which is a big surprise since I almost didn’t read this book!
The hero of this book is Prinny’s by-blow numero tres. He’s the biggest man whore to ever live in London, with a string of mistresses so long that the hero and heroine literally interact with them in droves. 🤮 The heroine, Christabel, approaches the hero, Gavin Byrne, asking for his help getting into a house party. The man throwing the party has some letters that could prove deadly to her father if they ever saw the light of day. They agree that the only way to get her invited to the very scandalous house party is if Christabel goes along with the pretense of being Byrne’s mistress. Of course, Byrne has no intention of allowing her to put him off from actually becoming his mistress. Soon, they are working together to find the missing letters while also trying to win the very competitive whist tournament at the house party. They eventually work out their issues and get a lovely HEA.
So, I’m sure anyone who has read a few of my reviews knows that I’m a sensitive romance reader - I hate cheating, I hate extensive ex lover drama, I NEVER want to read a sex scene with the hero or heroine and OM/OW. I really hate the virgin & manwhore pairing, but alas, it’s hard to avoid. Anywayyys, I have a whole list of things that I just simply try my best to not read when reading romance.
Yes, I’m touchy. But whatever.
This book was nearly a non-starter for me because of all the mistresses that the hero has had in previous books and also because I read a read in a review that they make up a large part of this story. And they do!!! In the story, the H&h encounter more past mistresses than I could keep track of. Some act jealous, others don’t, some try to throw themselves at the hero, others get bitchy to the heroine, they even discuss his prowess in bed among themselves... it was all just everything I absolutely hate in most romance novels.
But... BUT.... somehow, it worked out to be ok in this book. The hero’s past didn’t ruin the book for me. Somehow, the H&h (both excellently written characters) and the plot managed to salvage what I would normally not touch with a 10ft pole. Go figure! 🙃
Overall, this book would likely earn an even higher rating from me if I wasn’t an overly sensitive ninny. The whole series has been an enjoyable experience... I wish Sabrina Jeffries’ newer books were as good as these. (But 🤫 they don’t even compare).
Safety is meh...mostly because of all the random mistresses that are incorporated into the very soul of this book. It didn’t bother me like it normally would though. H was a MAJOR manwhore and h is widowed but was married for 10 years to a man who never once gave her an orgasm in all those years. LOL. Both kiss others over the course of this book but it’s not because either of them want it, the kisses are forced by the other parties.

The plot is tight, the character development very good and the h/h are a delight to know. I was cheering them on in the bedroom, at the card tables, and in matters of the heart.
Now off to order book 1 and 2 and see what the other by blows have in store for this reader.
I also feel the need to learn all there is to know of the game whist. So off to google!
“Kraliyet Kardeşleri” serisinin son kitabı Ömür Boyu Sürecek ile veda ederken içim buruk. Seriye sanırım veda etmeye hazır olmadığımı fark ettim, böylece. Beni kendine bağlayan, bir solukta okuduğum bir kitaptı Ömür Boyu Sürecek. Serinin ilk kitaplarından tanıdığımız karakterleri yeniden görerek maceralarına dair hatırlatmakar da mevcut, üstelik karakterleri yeniden görmek evliliklerinde mutlu olduklarını okumak da eski dostla karşılaşıp ayak üstü sohbet etmek gibi bir his bıraktı.
Beni bilen bilir, diyerek yorumuma devam edeyim.
Definitely the best of the series in my opinion. Both characters had flaws and lots of secrets but also both were pretty justified in their wariness of a relationship. As their relationships develop, they’re forced to admit their true feelings and it doesn’t come easily to either. With the high stakes of the letters and the gambling, it was a gripping story. However I thought the HEA was a really good one and I liked how believable the hero’s conversion from bent on revenge to moving on to discover a life of joy was. It was satisfying and well developed. It laid out all the characters’ pain and secrets and addressed everything making the nail biting journey very worthwhile. Not a story I’d revisit but a good one nonetheless.
Rounding up to 5 stars because I don't see this type of amazing character arc anymore 😭 Widowed FMC in a quest to retrieve Very Important stolen letters requests the assistance of Very Bad Man nicknamed The Prince of Sin (I adore a ridiculous nickname!). Immediately he's like: I want her so he proposes a sweet deal: I'll help you get the letters and also bang you into next week but I do not do FEELINGS. She's like you can help me get the letters and also good luck with that. Cue the romantic and sexual tension 🤌🏽
I adored the second book in this series and while this one didn't quite reach the solid five star level (I thought it dragged slightly in the last quarter) it was almost as equally delightful. Jeffries knows how to redeem a scoundrel (this was written in the before times when MCs were allowed to be unrepentant scoundrels until they fell in love 🥹). The love scenes were just the right amount of spice and the end was a satisfying tie up of the series. Highly recommended.

Fans of Ms. Jeffries' ROYAL BROTHERHOOD SERIES have been waiting for the story of Gavin Byrne, one of three half-brothers who are the sons of England's Prince Regent. These half-noble brothers have gotten into all types of scrapes, known countrywide as notorious rogues-in their personal lives as much as their professional ones. The series began with Alexander Black, Earl of Iversley, in the book IN THE PRINCE'S BED. Second brother Marcus North, Viscount Draker, had his story told in TO PLEASURE A PRINCE. Now comes Gavin Byrne's chance to tell his story with ONE NIGHT WITH A PRINCE.
Gavin, the well-known-and sometimes despised-owner of the Blue Swan Men's club, a gaming house, sets out to exact revenge. As young, royal, rash princes seem inclined to do, Gavin takes advantage of the opportunity to enlist the aid of a woman. Lady Christabel, Marchioness of Haversham, is a widow on a mission to rescue letters that could destroy both her father and Prince Regent. She agrees to do the unthinkable-pose as Gavin's mistress in order to save her family's reputation, and that of the Prince.
The plot of ONE NIGHT WITH A PRINCE gets complicated-Gavin, for example, was the one who came to collect Christabel's late husband's debt, and got shot at for his efforts. Christabel wants the secret letters to keep her father from being sent to the gallows-Gavin wants them because he hates his biological father, Prince Regent, and resents the way he turned his mother away.
When Alexander and Marcus, Gavin's half-brothers, urge him to go into alliance with Christabel, he's wary. Once he decides to do so, his main goal-aside from ruining his father-is to get the proper Lady Christabel into his bed. This heroine is no fainting spinster, however, and the tables are soon turned. When all is said and done, which will Gavin Byrne find more important-the destruction of the man he's hated all of his life, or the safety of the woman he's come to love?
ONE NIGHT WITH A PRINCE is historical romance at its best. Engaging characters, attention to historical detail, and humorous dialogue will keep you reading long into the night. I'm sorry to see this trilogy end, but I'm sure Ms. Jeffries has something else planned for our reading pleasure in the near future.
We both really enjoyed the conclusion to the Royal Brotherhood series. Byrne is a believably (not-all-that-bad) bad boy, and Christabel is the good girl who's always toed the line. He corrupts her just enough, and she makes him "want to be good."
The characters are mature and their love story is convincing. That said, this isn't a serious romance novel. It's got plenty of over-the-top historical romance spice to keep it interesting, and the love scenes are steamy. (There are 3 chapters of sexy card playing, OK?) We really, really liked it!
22-Word Summaries:
Meg: How to score an invite to England’s most exclusive card party: pretend to be the mistress/card partner of London’s sexiest gambler.
Laine: Not all cardsharks are rapists: a primer by the world's best daughter. Dedicated to a Gibraltarian who is definitely NOT prinny's son.
by far the STEAMIEST book i’ve read in a while not that there was lots of scenes but the scenes that were there were so steamy i was staring at the book like this😮 but it was romantic as well not as romantic ad the other two brothers spoliers for this line but i like how the ml didn’t forgive the father after all that like neither would ok back to no spoliers
love a plus sized female lead + love how she says what comes to her mind + communication
ml was an ethical player as i said to my friend🙈 but he changed and i love a good rake turned good boy
