Ross Jeffries (born Paul Jeffrey Ross on 20 September 1958) is a former comedy writer and the creator of "Speed Seduction," a set of personal development writings and seminars that draw on Neuro-linguistic Programming and hypnotic techniques. Jeffries claims these methods help men understand women, particularly their motivations and psychology, in order to successfully pick up women. Ross's current version of Speed Seduction focuses on techniques of moving "energy" through the body and the practice of magick. His techniques and online persona have been the subject of some controversy.

A veritable classic of the long-ago formerly-underground seduction self-help advice. I love the cover (the author looks like an idealized nerdy version of a pimp, which is to the point), the various insights, the peculiar NLP influence, but most of all the sense of humor displayed nearly from line to line. I find this little book hilarious, and I think it is worth reading for that reason as much as for its pick-up and get-laid knowledge and techniques. Some if not many of these may be (or surely are) currently dated, and yet the world is even worse nowadays than when Jeffries wrote his book, so this honest vision of women and dating appears retrospectively refreshing --and impractical, like science fiction-- in the politically-correct, repressive society a few of us still live in.

Truly an embarrassment. Apocryphal in its corniness. The earliest--but some of the worst--advice in this genre of self-improvement. Its so dated as to be largely unusable today. Much of what Jeffries offers here has become cliche; fodder for punchlines in comedy routines.

Its rife with hoary old gender-biases; personal insecurity; and misogyny; and for the most part impractical. Way back when, Jeffries became a kind of caricature of himself--the epitome of the guy who would go to any Rube Goldberg length to get laid. His exploits don't make any kind of 'system' for today's males, however. Better to regard this book as a warning --a cautionary tale indicating what might happen to you if you throw all your energy into being a slimy lounge-lizard like this guy.

He is still out there, FYI. Now that dating guides have exploded into a multi-million dollar business he blows a lot of hot air about somehow being owed something. All he deserves though is..a raspberry. Just because someone is 'ahead of their time' doesn't mean they always got it right. Lots of people tried to fly before the Wright Brothers. Jeffries is a footnote in history; his techniques are interesting only for the 'completist' who wants to know where dating-manuals all began.

But actually reading his how-to-get-laid book is only justified by the amusement you will get out of it.

Most of the advices in this book are silly and only few of them are useful. Sometimes reading this kind of books is the price that people have to pay in the endless search for wisdom.

I think this book is hilarious. It's also fact-based. The author will never be liked by the #metoo crowd, even though some of them probably slept with the author ever so willingly.

Certainly the feminism, political corrective, and GOOD BODY ideological cult groups wouldn’t like this book.

We can’t apply all the teachings that are written in the book since we live in MiddleEast, but it'll give you some tips and ideas on how to not be a fool on these topics.

I enjoyed it, and it’s funny, though 🤣.

I couldn't resist when I saw it on a thrift store shelf. It looked like one of those cheesy mail-order books. I can't tell if it's for real or a joke. Fascinating in a sleazy, cavalier, unbelievable way and perhaps some people might consider it instructional (manipulative psychopaths).

It works but WHAT IS MORE SO FASCINATING? You can apply it to businesses and OTHER SPHERES of life just like Napoleon Hill’s Law of Sexual Transmutation from his classic book “THINK and GROW Rich” reach me on kess4u2cc@gmail.com (I’m a relationship coach and I HELP revive a dying relationship 😉)

An interesting, innovative but terse perspective on a topic that many authors have written about. I enjoyed the book.

Informed and authoritative. Funny to read as well, as expected some information is dated such as personal ads, but it is generally sound.

I wanted to read a book on NLP applied toward the purposeful manipulation of other humans, not just for self help purposes. He does it here--Intermittently between skeezy (albeit dated) ideas. His technique toward confidence is solid. His use of hypnosis for sex would work if they sat still long enough. Mostly the content felt gross. There is a decent injection of humor, and he seems to hold a higher standard of women than the people he gears his techniques toward. He wrote this for a pretty low audience. Lower than I think he personally would respect. I'm glad I read it, now I'm going to go wash my hands.
