As Fujimaru dives deeper into investigating the enigmatic "Bloody Monday" data, the stakes are raised when his sister is abducted. The terrorists demand Falcon complete a hacking job for them in exchange for his sister. Time is short as his sister is in urgent need of dialysis. Can Fujimaru break free of the terrorist's insidious manipulation and find a way to save his sister without helping the terrorists further their agenda?
I'm still enjoying this, but I haven't fallen in love with the story or characters yet, so I don't feel super connected to the things that are transpiring. But I see a lot of great promise with the way this volume ended... I can't wait to see how things pan out in the next one.
A lot of violently graphic scenes - blood/torture/death and a kidnapping. The art bothers me a little bit because a number of the characters look almost exactly the same.
Overall though, the plot is surprisingly enjoyable.
The 2nd volume to this manga was really fast paced and interesting, the 1st volume was mainly a set up to the story but the 2nd volume is a breeze, it goes by super fast and is really interesting, the events that take place and what they lead to makes you want to see what happens and it’s good!
I officially have a new favorite manga series. Bloody Monday is awesome. It's a tense techno-thriller full of suspicious characters, double agents, and a page-turning mystery. Good for fans of the tense interplay between L and Light in Death Note, but it is not a fantasy series (so no demons, ninjas, spells, etc). While some of the hacking is a bit over-simplified, the drama as the stakes are constantly raised completely pulled me in.
