Third re-read: 21.08.2021
Here's the thing: this series isn't bad. I really isn't. It has action, it has love, it has friendship, it has heartbreaks, it has loss and it has gains. However, it is YA which means that while there is sex in this series, we don't get it described. Then there's also the fact that the ending doesn't feel complete;

Oh and lets not forget that this book kinda, sadly, made Lucien feel kinda weak, and you know me, I want my man ALL powerful. It wasn't that Caia was so powerful that Lucien felt pale in her light, but it was that it felt that the pact didn't respect him as much, that he wasn't strong as he was and was easily overpowered by Reuben and I didn't feel him as an alpha of his pack in this book. I still love - or at least really like - Lucien, but he did some poor choices in this book and I wanted him to be more.

Overall, I still enjoyed this book but I do believe it would've been even better had it been NA. That said, I think fans of YA would like this quite much though perhaps find Lucien stupid at times, and Caia might seem "weak" in terms of fighting but hurt anyone she loves and she'll blast you out of existence. Ugh this became longer than I thought, I need to go to bed now. Anywho, I wish we had gotten a forth book about events after the war and how Caia and her pack is doing.

⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱*Might contain spoilers*⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱
This review is purely for me and does contain spoilers and lots of facts from the book to keep myself in the know at all time. It's also incredibly long and really detailed.

Second re-read: 15.05.2018
We're back with my last re-read of Caia ‘Cy’ Ribeiro (18), the hybrid of half a magik, a witch and half lykan and her Pack Leader and mate, Lucien Líder (24). The book is filled with action, heartbreak, betrayal, manipulation, friendship and love. It kinda has it all. However, I, of course, have lots to complain about that I didn't remember/that didn't bothered me before. Like for example the ending. It's too open, and I feel like we get no closure. One of the reasons I keep checking out Samantha Young 's website to see if there any gifs for us of this world. This series should've had more books to fully give it the ending it deserves.
“You’re allowed to cry, Caia. She meant a great deal to you, to everyone. In this war you will see a lot of death, and feel much grief, but you have to let yourself feel it. If you stop allowing yourself to, you will start to stop caring about why you are fighting this war in the first place.”

Now to another problem, Lucien and Caia's relationship; I feel like they take one step forward, and two steps back. This I remember didn't bother me the other times I read it, but now.... I just couldn't enjoy the book fully as it felt like the couple was on repeat for the whole series. It wasn't enough of them acting as a Alpha Mated Couple, of them being together properly and fully. Also, Jaeden was a problem to as well, if you read, you know; she became a person I'd hate normally. Though I never did have love for her... Reuben was also a problem for me; I didn't like how powerful he was, and how weak it made Lucien seem. I need my man to be the strongest, the most powerful, and I barely felt anything from Lucien at all. The balance of the couple wasn't there; if you have read my other reviews of the series, you'd know what I'm talking about. Overall, it wasn't exactly a bust, but the rating - as well as for the other re-reads of this series - has gone down. I needed more and I didn't get it.
She raised her eyebrows, looping her hands around his neck and wriggling provocatively. “Looks like I've just been promoted to Alpha then, huh?”
Lucien made a face. “Well the job is yours if you want it, but I should warn you that the contract is bull crap. I've received none of the perks that were promised.”
“Perks?”
“Oh, you know... a lifetime supply of beer and foot massages, a harem of women to bathe and clothe me etcetera...”
She snorted and pulled back from him. “Harem of women?”
He grinned unrepentantly. “Did I mention my sense of humour is greatly underappreciated?”

Other characters:
I've put these in a spoilers tag simply because it's a long as list.

Deaths:
He threw her a distasteful look. “Uh...meaning,” he imitated her, “That Caia like totally isn't like a self-absorbed bimbo. She only like totally mashed people into pulp when someone else is in like total danger.”
“I don't say like and totally that much, O-K!!

Man, I'll miss this series..

I want more! I hope, really hope, that Samantha Young will write more book for this series. Like 3.5 books.. Just more, so we can see how the future is now, and if Caia is pregnant. I mean, wouldn't that be perfect? A little of Lucien and Caia's around? But, how we gotten it? Noooooo... :S

Crap, I'll really miss these characters.. It's been an honor, Caia and Lucien! I sincerely hope we meet again.

New rate: 4.5 stars.

As much as I loved the first two books in the Lunarmorte series Blood Solstice was my favorite! It was so well written and sooooo very much going on! Reading the Lunarmorte series was my first introduction to Samantha Young and I have not only read more of her books because of how awesome this series was done but I eagerly look forward to all her future works! She is such an excellent writer with and excellent imagination and brings everything and everyone in her stories together so well and always leaves me happy and satisfied with the story read as well as looking forward to more!

There has been so much going on in the first two books of The Tale of Lunarmorte and so much more to come in Blood Solstice! Caia and Lucien and all their friends have had their lives turned upside down. With loved ones lost and everything they've all grown to believe brought into question. Now it's time for answers and solutions. I don't want to give away anything for those who haven't fully read Blood Solstice yet as the surprises are a big part of the enjoyment of the story. Blood Solstice, just like the first two stories in the series, was captivating from beginning to end, So many things going on, things answered and explained, people surprising you with their involvement in everything and our dear friends struggling to deal with it all and do the right things. It is an excellent ending to the series although still leaves things open for a follow up :)

This is the final installment in the Lunamorte trilogy. Caia is coming to grips with her power and stepping into her role as a leader. As usual, there has to be some disagreement between her and Lucien that could separate them forever. I don't really get it. Young does this in all of her novels. It always seems that something really minor causes this huge rift that we have to deal with.

I do like the books though. They are pure escapism. Samantha Young's worlds are unique and fresh. I like how in her paranormal books she focuses more on the humanity of her characters, instead of the supernatural side. She has some great characters too. I love Reuben and Saffron. Also, she is great with the element of surprise. I'm never quite sure where the story is heading and that is refreshing.

There is a happy end and Samantha Young doesn't feel the need to kill off multiple main characters, which is also appreciated. I hate it when authors do that. Killing characters does not make it more "realistic." It's just depressing. I don't read books looking for reality, I read books to escape from my own.

This book picks up right where the last one left off, with Caia kidnapped by none other than Reuben. It turns out that our favorite vamp is actually Kirios a 2,000 year old second generation blood sucker, who witnessed the start of the war between daylights and midnights. He has been waiting a long time for Caia to be born and finally bring this pointless war to an end, the only problem is she does not agree with his methods. Now Caia must make a choice that will have a huge impact on all magical creatures, while battling to save her pack along with the council from the clutches of Marita.

Let me start off by saying OMG! after the shocking ending to the last book I was more than eager to start this one and see what on earth was going to happen to Caia, and her pack. I could not have been more surprised to find that Reuben was the one who kidnapped her and has been behind the scenes the entire time waiting for the day when she would be born. I love that Samantha literally takes us over 2,000 years back to the past where we follow Reuben's journey and see how the war actually started and what part the Gods played in creating the trace that led to the existence of two separate coven's. It was quite interesting to say the least.

This book is very fast paced with non stop action and excitement which I am thankful for because I am so tired of authors dragging out events (just get to the point already!) Right away we have a battle in the begging of the story where lines are drawn and former enemies become allies and former allies become the enemies. Then just when you think our characters will have some time to breathe and relax after fighting for their lives tragedy hits, and the pack is consumed with grief over their horrific loss. When I was reading this part I literally started to tear up, because I couldn't believe what had happened. Most authors tend to be shall we say a little skeptical about killing off some of their characters, but its refreshing to see that Samantha is not afraid to take that step and do drastic things, (even if it is sad) it only adds more to the story and helps build up our other characters.
Caia truly became a leader in this book, she did what she had to do in order to protect those she cares about even at the risk of not being with the one she loves most. I feel so proud of her and her will and determination, her journey from the beginning was filled with secrets and heartache but she conquered everything in her path and became to say it bluntly very KICK ASS! Jaeden also became a very dear character to me and I was so sad at all the pain she kept having to go through, and incredibly happy that she was also able to overcome all her demons and be the best she could be.

This series really takes you on an emotional journey, it makes you feel everything from shock and despair to overwhelming joy and relief with plenty of action mixed in to keep you eager to get tot the next page, and that is exactly what I look for. This book especially took all of those elements and made them even bigger until you kept wondering how much bigger it could possibly get. I can honestly say that I fell in love with series, Samantha does terrific job keeping readers engaged keeping each story exciting and suspenseful, there is not a single dull moment. This book wrapped everything up beautifully but the ending leaves you thinking that there is more to come. Which luckily for us there is!

I wish I could say I loved this trilogy. It had all the key elements to be a great ya romance novel except the romance part.

There is couples in these books but between the dishonesty, drama and border line cheating on the male leads part just made it very distasteful as a romance. Even at the end Lucien did not believe his mate about his ex lover. Yet she not only believes him about not kissing his ex along with several other idiotic things he does, she starts a relationship with him again to have herself kicked out because lucien wouldnt believe in her.

When you are rooting for the obnoxious 2400 year old with no mention of romance to step up as the male lead there are issues.

Lucien was a very bad male lead, he reminded me of a petulant 12 year old most of the books. I kept waiting for him to step up and act like a mate. To the very end he did not.

That aside if you like to read about a strong woman coming into her own this is the trilogy for you. Just dont expect a mate that is equal to that strength because he was not.

Like I said I was disappointed in the characters but she has a great storyline. I hope in other books she cultivates her characters a bit better.

It was cool. Not bad. It went a little bit as expected; not very surprising, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I really loved Reuben of all people. I thought his relationship with Caia was really cute and he played a big part in the end. Speaking of the end, that last epilogue-thing with the Gods was unnecessary. I liked the 3 years later flashforward, but the information about the trace was not needed. It leaves something to be desired. Almost like a lead-in for another book... but, we all know this is the end. So, unless there will be Book 4, that last tidbit was pointless, and slightly annoying.
But, other than that, it was a pretty good end to a really cool series!

I loved this book...Out of the whole series this has to be by far my favourite! There were far too many 'put in the freezer moments' lol but i think thats why i loved it so much! It ment to me that i had fully got attached to these characters! Now i have to admit i was probably a little to upset that Caia didn't go and do some serious ass whooping on Rose ESPECIALLY when it was discovered what she did! This is just an epic book from start to finish! I have to wonder though, is there going to be a spin off series!? I friggin hope so!!!

I definitely liked this book, but there were some things that were quite bad, which lessened my enjoyment.

1. Caia was FUCKING fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed her as a character, and even though she's 18, she was a very strong MC.

2. Lucien was the equivalent of the sole female in an action movie. Simply there for eye candy and adds nothing to the plot.

3. The battle was funny.

4. It was still not written very well, which dampened my interest in the book as a whole.

5. Is the epilogue leaving room for more books? Because I don't know how to feel about that.

6. Reuben was a fucking blast. Saffron was a fucking blast. They both needed more page time.

7. Marita was a useless villain.

8. Still don't know half the people in the pack. Who is related to whom?

9. At least there was a popping battle. I love war.

10. Mating still makes no sense to me, but I rolled with it, so it was okay.

Yeet, yeet. Overall not a bad book and not a bad series at all. It was more or less enjoyable.

SPOILERS!!

While this book had the potential to be great, it wasn't quite as good as the 2nd book, River Cast.

So, we discover who Reuben is.a 2400 year old Vamp who was not only around when the War began, but was part of the reason why it started. And I have to say I like him even more now than before, kinda the bad guy or not. We learn more about Saffron and her past and I have to say, I love her too.. I forgot to mention her in the other reviews, but I actually like her. Bitchiness and all. She knows what she's doing and she's good at it. She acts like a bitch, but it seems more like there's an underlying hurt causing it, which is KIND OF mentioned in this book. I'm also sure that that underlying hurt's name is Kirios.. ;) ...

Well... The war continues. Caia learns more about the war and how it started from Reuben, and just how far back it actually goes, as well as what is needed to 'end' it. As her powers grow so does she. She's quite strong for only 18. And I have to admire her for all her choices she's made through out this book. Lucien is still an idiot. Even moreso in this book than the last. He and Caia have reconciled, but Rose is still an issue, being forced to stay with The Pack for protection since she fought against Marita. She KNOWS Lucien and Caia are together, but she still tries to attach herself to Lucien. And Lucien doesn't want to be jerk enough to make her stop. He says that if Rose is in love with him it doesn't matter because he loves Caia and that there's nothing between he and Rose. However, I seem to remember how CRAZY JELOUS he was of Sebastian for being madly in love with Caia, even though she didn't love him back in that way. Uhhh.. hellooo? Ass hat.. I got really upset about his treatment toward Rose vs. his treatment of Caia. I couldn't believe he kicked Caia out of the pack for deciding to do something he said he would support her on. THEN, the way he treated Caia when she discovered Rose's betrayal. I mean seriously? I was actually rooting for Reuben in this situation. I was hoping that Caia would LIKE Reuben enough that maybe a small spark would flare. Enough at least to cause Lucien to 'See the Light'... No such luck.

Ok.. so there's lots of fighting and personal growth in this book. Alexa and Jaeden become close, but the circumstances causing that are tragic. The Pack is continuously facing one dramatic and traumatic event after another until finally they are forced to leave. This also causes Caia to make the decision that forces Lucien to kick her out of the pack. Jaeden and Ryder go through a rough patch, but she finally comes around and allows him close again, and boy do the sparks fly. STILL LOVE ME SOME RYDER!!! lol...

Caia finds a reason NOT to help Reuben with his way of stopping the war and figures out another way to accomplish the same thing. She speaks to the Prophet to confirm it would work, then brings her plan to the Council. The Council reluctantly agrees to her plan and drags her into a blood oath to ensure she does as she's promised. Lucien discovers the real reason behind Caia leaving with Reuben to do as Reuben asked her to do and sends for Caia to ask her to come back. Caia answers Luciens call and returns to The Pack and tells them all she's discovered thus far. She didn't take out the Septum (the thing Reuben wanted her to do) but found another way. In my opinion, she went back to Lucien too easily. He should have had to work harder to make her come back to him. He DID banish her, after all. BUT, they've been through a lot already and she decides she'd rather have him by her side than not. Understandable.. slightly irritating, but understandable.. SO.. She takes out Marita and the Council lives up to their end of the bargain and then Caia has to uphold her end of the blood oath following that.

Caia comes up with an interesting way to finally bring an end to the 'War' after the Trace Magik is gone. a serious battle, old school style. Meet somewhere and fight until one side kills all of the other and the battle is left on the field. CRAZY FIGHT!!. Could have been better. I would have liked to see more about the Council fighting. They're supposed to be pretty powerful, and catching more of them in action would have been nice. Same goes for the Midnight Council members. Anyway.. Finally something bad happens that really pisses Caia off and in one fail swoop she takes out ALL of the Midnights. sigh... Through out this whole series Caia is always saving Lucien, while Lucien is busy protecting someone else. He never really seems to be as protective of her when she's in actual danger as he is possessive of her when she's around other males. He doesn't seem to have much faith in her decisions and during all the battles in all the books he leaves her to fend for herself. For being such a strong Alpha, this just seems stupid to me. Sure he has to put the safety of his pack first, but she is his MATE, and should be putting her slightly above everyone else, especially in times of actual battle. He's always there when she wakes up after a battle from either being hurt or over exerted, but he's never there to keep her from going down in the first place...

anyway, everything after that was somewhat boring. I wasn't real impressed with the ending. For a Trilogy, it left a lot open for another book. I did however, enjoy the scene with the Gods..

This book was good and had a great story line. Book 2 in this trilogy was my favorite though. Overall it was a really good series.

WHAT AN AWESOME FINISH TO A FANTASTIC SERIES!! Goodness, I finished a few hours ago and I still have this completely satisfied feeling.

I LOVED the action of this book, I didn't think it could get much better in terms of action and suspense and romance, but Blood Solstice took over and wouldn't let me go. I was so involved in the plot that even though I saw how much everyone loved the book and the ending, I still was heartbroken when Lucien died and was crying with Caia when she thought he was dead. That was probably my favorite scene, when she was having a panic attack after the battle because she thought she'd have to live without Lucien, and then all of a sudden she hears, "Breathe Caia..." goodness he took my heart with him as well.

In terms of characters, I really started to like Caia in this book. I liked her in the other 2 books but I really started to cheer for her in this book. I loved how self-sacrificing she was and how much of her heart she put on the line for everyone else, I really connected with her. Another first in this book, was how much Lucien annoyed me through the beginning and middle of this book. The lack of trust almost caused me not to like him completely because I was just so tired of hearing it. It took me a while to step back and look at their circumstances and understand his motives, which I'm still slightly leery of, but I will admit that by the end he was pulling on my heartstrings again (as mentioned in above favorite scene!).

Still a SUPERDUPER fan of Jaeden and Jaeden and Ryder. I LOVED her character and I LOVED how loyal she was, even after she blackmailed Caia. I LOVED Vanne. I never paid much attention to him in the other books but boy was I a fan after the truth came out. I also LOVED the hint of future romance with Marion and Vanne (thank goodness Marion was OKAY!) and Reuben and Saffron.

I loved the epilogue with the goddesses, it was a really really entertaining and unexpected concept that Samantha Young added in at the end.

Overall one of my favorite reads this year, I love Samantha Young's writing and will definitely be reading more from her VERY soon.

A great 5 star rating :)

I don’t like this cover either. I don’t really get what it has to do with the story itself. And honestly this story took a wild turn for me. The ending was underwhelming to say the least. I just couldn’t wrap my head around how easy it was for her to beat the big bad. And we never find out what her ‘special’ power is. That was a huge loose end that needed to be tied up IMO.

So let’s see, you would think after ALL the trials and tribulations Caia and Lucien go through, they would have a strong relationship. But nooooo, surprise surprise, he still doesn’t trust her to be able to take care of herself and respect her decisions. Not that Lucien is the only one who suffers from stupidity, Caia is an idiot about the whole situation. Sorry to be mean about it but this series started out so good and just went downhill for me making me really angry and maybe a bit bitter as well.

Although I will say that once again, Jaeden and Ryder’s story saved this book from being a total loss for me. I felt her pain, I felt his anger and hopelessness. They had such a traumatic experience that I cried. I cried a lot at that one part. You know which I mean Lenore, right? Anyway, if it wasn’t for the side characters in this story I may have DNF’d this book, which is sad because it’s the last book in the series.

I don’t really have much else to say about this story, as a whole it was good, this last one just was a bit irritating for me.

Emotional Explosion
The build of emotions from book 1 and 2 blew up in my face. Everything was intensified. My adoration and respect for some, my hatred and rage for others....it all escalated to the point that I felt short of breath.
This third & final installment in the Lunarmorte series was superb in every way.

It jump starts with Caia's captivity and never slows down. We see her rise above again and again. Lucien, Lucien Lucien. I almost felt the need for a shiny new Lucien sized pelt hanging on my wall. Let me just say, he's one lucky wolf.
Jae & Ryder steal the show more than once and I was internally bleeding for them, pleading with my kindle...'fix this, oh Gaia please fix this!?!'
Rose...my mouth feels dirty just uttering her name. She brings out this suppressed need to draw blood. I truly wanted to throttle her!!

Oh dear goddess the grief, the joy, the shock... I was an emotional wreck. But I was a satisfied emotional wreck.
Epilogue was a tad puzzling. Mythological sprinkle for a potential spin off series?? We shall see....

Having read the entire trilogy now, I'll start by saying that I LOVED THEM ALL!!!! Blood Solstice had everything from epic battle to heart-break to powerful moments of emotions. The thing I liked most about these books are the character and world definition. It gave a clear picture of what was going on, to characters that were developed, in a world that was whole. Blood Solstice also answered a lot of the questions the entire trilogy had posed (with the exception of the Epilogue obviously), not leaving me with 10,000 questions and no way of answering them!!! As much as I had hoped it would change, I still can't seem to like Lucien but at least this book wasn't as bad as the first two when it came to him. Overall I would encourage everyone to read these books and I really hope the rumor of more actually comes true!!

The entire Lunarmorte trilogy was absolutely amazing. I will definitely be recommending it to anyone and everyone I know that enjoys paranormal romance as much as I do. And this trilogy has easily become one of my all-time favorites.

The storyline was amazing, the characters were amazing, and the love story was AMAZING. Lucien and Caia's love was so passionate and I felt my heart aching with them so many times throughout the book. I admit I wasn't a big fan of the reverse love triangle and was quick to become angry several times, but thankfully Samantha didn't put too much emphasis on it and I was able to get over it. ;)

By far one of my favorite werewolf stories, and one of my favorite stories period!

Great ending to a wonderful trilogy!

Firstly, I want to mention how the beginning of this book starts out as a recap of what occurred in the last book, which happened in River Cast as well. I couldn't help but laugh a little like I was watching a television episode instead of reading a book since it was like "Previously on Vampire Diaries..." or, in this case, "Previously in The Tale of Lunarmorte Trilogy..." but I guess it would be helpful for those who had some time between reading the second and third book.

Now, after our little recap session at the beginning, the story really begins as Reuben tells Caia the story of his life and how the war all began. It actually takes up a good first part of the beginning of the book as we go through flashbacks of his life and I was fascinated through the whole thing. Often times, books give too much history or background information that I find boring and totally not interesting, but that was not the case this time around. We finally get to learn about the mysterious Reuben and see how he fits into the whole scheme of things. (I think it was actually one of my favorite parts of the book - seeing how Reuben fit into the war and how all his efforts lead to the ultimate bringing about of Caia).

I remember how much I disliked Reuben and didn't trust him in River Cast, but I actually grew fond of him in this book and he could be pretty funny at times...

"Uh...meaning," he imitated her, "That Caia like totally isn't like a self-absorbed bimbo. She only like totally mashed people into a pulp when someone else is in like total danger."

Not only was it hilarious, but he was insulting Alexa at the same time. Two points to Reuben for awesomeness.

(Side note, I love how Magnus has a deep interest in Harry Potter. It makes me like him all the more.)

Now, back to the book, the plot is filled with more relationship drama and drama about how to end the war between the Midnights and Daylights, which at times could be a little stressful and saddening. I mean come on, I did not want to see Jaeden pushing Ryder away! That was so sad! But even though Jaeden sometimes made me angry, I loved her for yelling at Rose for trying to get between Lucien and Caia. That girl, Rose, seriously did not know how to just give up and go home!

And I love Caia! She is such a strong girl and now that I think about it, I don't think I ever disagreed with her or got mad at her for any of her actions (and not just in this book, I think it was like that for all three books, in my opinion anyway). And that just might be a first, because I am often fed up with the female leads at some point in a novel (or in today's YA books that translates into CONSTANTLY being annoyed with the female lead to the point of wanting the heroine to just die because she's so annoying, stupid, shallow, fill in the blank). So thank you Caia for being your awesome self!

As for Lucien...

And the Epilogue at the very end of the book was just the perfect ending!

3.5 stars -- Well I'm going to say something that doesn't really make any sense -- I stayed up til 5am finishing this book, and yet when I came out of it I was mildly disappointed. I guess I was just so excited after the conclusion of the 2nd book, and when this one started we were sort of hit with a major infodump right at the beginning and it felt a bit dry to me.

The area in which this book excels, and what kept me flipping pages for more and more was the action. Ms. Young seriously knows how to write some engaging fighting scenes and gripping suspense. And I was really just genuinely intrigued with how the war was going to unfold.

Where I guess she lost me on this book was some of the secondary characters... Particularly Reuben and Jae. For the life of me I couldn't figure out what to think about Reuben, he was the most conflicting character I've met in a long time. Someone who was not truly evil or good. And I guess I just had a hard time empathizing with Jae and what she went through and how she reacted. I could understand some of the motivations, but it just went too far and I was truly disappointed in her. I found it amazing how easily she was forgiven by some. There was just a ruthlessness to her that left me feeling cold. And don't even get me started on the forgiveness of Alexa.

I am still totally onboard with Caia -- she was definitely a kick ass heroine that I loved to read about. Some of the other secondary characters were still fantastic too -- Ryder, Magnus, Vil and Laila... Lucien was up and down for me. I felt for some of what he was going through, but he was mega stupid about the whole Rose situation so I guess he disappointed me in a fashion too.

And while I was totally engaged with the story, I don't know if my emotions were turned off, but I didn't get as emotional in this story as I did when the tragedy happened in the first story...and so much MORE happens in this one. I don't know if it was just me and a mood I was in, but I should have been bawling at so many points in this story, and I just wasn't.

And I guess the final point against the story that will probably have me rounding down instead of up is the really disappointing romantic aspect. I'm a romance girl at heart, and I just wasn't feeling it much in this series, particularly in this last book. It just sort of existed, but I didn't get any butterflies for our couples, or feel the connections as much as I wanted to I guess. Again, maybe that was just me, but it always just felt kind of rushed and there and while it could be a driving force for some of the plot, I just wasn't feeling it at all (no swooning for me).

So all in all I did enjoy this series, I guess it just brought different things than I was expecting and while the action and plot was totally engaging, I was missing some of those extras that turns a series into one I love.

I'm in love with this series!!!

Let me just say that I'm a sucker for greek mythology and when you add my 2nd obsession with supernatural - wolfs - you get proper fangirling!

And Caia, oh she is so fuck*** great character, I realy enjoyed reading her and watching her grow in this amazing powerful woman! She is like prfect combination of strong, sensitive, stubborn, loving, determined, smart, impulsive, temperamental and most of all kick ass!!!!

Well realy, all characters were great and well written, but there is one that I enjoyed the most, and that is Kirios aka Reuben :$

Every time his name come up I was like:

I would LOVE to read more of him and Saffron!

This was certainly one of my favourite supernatural stories and one of my favourite stories in a long time! <3

End of fangirling :$

P.S: I hear that this is not the end of Lunarmorte world...

Ohh Gaia, let it be true!

I am bereft........I loved this book and the series as a whole - and now I've finished it *sob*.

To me, book 3 was far more adult in tone, and given the circumstances of the storyline this was more than understandable. It twisted and turned in ways I wasn't necessarily expecting and I loved the use of mythology woven through the story as well, which brought more depth to the book.

I do have one negative however.....you've made it impossible for me to choose between Lucien and Ryder :( Why would you do that to me at my stage of life???

I don't want to spoil anything for anyone still to read this amazing series so I won't go into detail about what happens in the 3rd and final instalment but if you feel any love for yourself at all then go out and read this - forget L'Oreal, the tag line to this series should be "Samantha Young's The Tale of Lunamorte Trilogy - Because You're Worth It!!" :)

This one really irritated me. On so many levels. First of all, Ms. Young really needs to get an editor. Her STORY is good . . . her WRITING could be improved. (I don't think ANYone can put words on a page without good editing . . . it helps in every instance.) So many paragraphs that were PAGES in length . . . there is a REASON we have grammar . . .

One of the more frustrating things about this book more than the last two is that Ms. Young spends more time TELLING than SHOWING. We spend most of the book in the minds of either Jaedin or Caia - and they are just whining their way through the story.

ALSO - the whole "we've got them together now let's add drama by breaking them up" scenario. Times 2. Ugh.

I liked the story. I liked the solution to the dilemma. I think it could have been delivered in a more easily and enjoyably read fashion.

Huh. A little too action packed for my liking. Interesting ending… I also felt like the story was unnecessarily prolonged. But I got some closure, and somewhat of a HEA in the end

This third and final book of the Lunarmorte series was an enjoyable read. I did enjoy it . . . just not nearly as much as the first two books in the series. I won't say that it is a disappointment. It wasn't. I still think that it was well worth my time to read this novel. I think that the real problem with this last book in the series was that it didn't quite capture my imagination in the same way that the previous two books had done. Why was that?

Well, first of all I think that the tone of the books changed significantly from the first book to this final book. In the first book the conflict seemed to arise from Caia's return to the pack and her newly acquired knowledge of her true identity. In addition the book was greatly enhanced with the romantic energy and tension between Caia and Lucien. Being the sucker for good romances that I am, I really enjoyed that part of the novel. I also liked the internal conflict that Caia dealt with in trying to discover exactly who she was and how she fit into this new situation. I loved it. The second book changed tones a bit as Caia found herself dealing with the great conflict between the Daylight and Midnight factions of the supernaturals. There was a lot more conflict in Caia's relationship with Lucien, so there was a lot less romance. There was more intrigue and mystery in the book. I still liked it, but it was a much different book. Now in Blood Solstice the conflict between the Midnights and the Daylights takes center stage. It is the prevailing force that drives the action of the plot. Was it interesting to me? A little. But not enough for me to absolutely fall in love with this book in the same way that I did the first two. I think that this may be because I have read the theme of a newly discovered powerful young girl who is destined to end decades/centuries long conflicts many times before. It just isn't my cup of tea. It isn't enough of a story to keep me reading. I need something more to keep me excited.

That something more in this book could have been the wonderful relationship between Caia and Lucien, or even the great relationship of Ryder and Jaeden. But it didn't happen. I recognize the need for authors to throw in some sort of conflict in relationships to keep things interesting, but for some reason the conflict in this book was one too many conflicts in the Lucien/Caia love story. Some of book one and most of book two involved the two of them separated because of pride or misunderstanding or outside influences. Those didn't bother me all too much, but I was seriously happy to have Lucien and Caia finally together by the end of the second book. Only they weren't. Caia is, once again, taken from Lucien, and this time she makes a choice to separate herself from him without explaining her reasons. So Lucien gives her an ultimatum, she calls his bluff, and yet again a large part of the book involves them being apart from one another. I really think that this book suffers from that separation this time in a way that the first two books did not. It didn't help that Ryder and Jaeden were also separated emotionally for a large portion of this book as well. There was no really romance to drive the plot, and I missed this a lot. I had really enjoyed reading about the pack and the interaction between characters. I liked the interaction of the mated couples as well and how they were able to maneuver within the confines of those strict relationships while maintaining their individuality in some measure. That was missing. Some of the characters that had been big parts of the first book were hardly mentioned. Some might not have issues with this, but I did, so I wasn't loving this book as much as I could have.

As for the major conflict itself -- Well, I don't know. I felt like the big resolution of the conflict at the end was a bit quick. There was tons of buildup, and then it was over. I recognize that Caia's part in this was a small moment, but the battle itself with the destruction involved was almost glossed over. Even with the BIG loss that takes place in this battle it seems as if the reaction to it was too brief. Then eyes close and magically we awake to find that things are all better. It wasn't a horribly written scene. It just wasn't one that I absolutely could love.

And the epilogue? Hated it. It didn't ruin the book, but I would have been happier without it.

So overall I would say that it is worth completing the series and ending. I really did enjoy this series a lot. It fell a bit short compared to the first two books, but it was still a fun read with good characters and situations. Many of you might not have as big of a problem with the plot as I did. I just love more romance in my stories, and this one didn't quite deliver. Still I do recommend this series to those who like a good paranormal story that is affordable as an ebook.

"Blood Solstice" was the perfect ending to a truly wonderful series. The story begins immediately with action, betrayl and intrigue as Caia discovers just who kidnapped her. She is shocked (So was I) but once explanations were made she understands the reasoning behind it all but does not like the task she is require to fulfill. Of course, Lucien is craze due to her absence. However, he and Ryder have problems of their own since they have been captured by Marita. During the capture Lucien's pack as well as others are under guard by powerful Magjicks.

If Marita is under the mistaken idea that all of this betrayal will go down easy, she will learn that she has another think coming. Members of the council have also been captured and inprisoned; but, this is far from the end. Relationships will be forged and battles will be ensued leaving Marita running from the Convention. However, she will not take losing this battle lightly and executes her revenge on several members in Lucien's pack leaving the remaining members emotionally devatasted. The resulting horror does not go unnoticed and although Lucien has escaped and called for his pack not to seek retribution, Caia is forced to go after Marita alone.

Rose is still waiting in the wings, hoping for a chance with Lucien. Men can be so stupid sometimes denying the truth that sits right under there noses. She will have a role to play in this battle and it will not be a good one. Although there are epic battles and losses, there is some humor in the book that will make you smile as well.

If my review seems sketchy it is because saying more would reveal too much and I did not want to spoil it for anyone. But, let me say that there is a whole lot of reading goodness in this book. If I had one criticism it would be that the ending scene was just too remeniscent of the movie scene from "Clash of the Titans" (Harry Hamlin version) where the gods look down on the mortal world like the people are pieces of a chess game. It was a bit corny.

All in all, I must say that I am fascinated with the writings of Samantha Young and will probably pick up another book from her. Give the Lunamorte Series a try. You will definitely enjoy yourself.

The third and final installment of The Tale Of Lunarmorte did NOT disappoint. With non stop action, twists and turns, and enough romantic tension to kill someone I honestly can say I did not expect this book to end any other way.

Samantha Young throws you into the action right where book number two left off, and let me tell you, she does not give you a second to breathe and take in all the new challenges that have been thrown at Caia. You are immediately wanting to throw things at characters, and yell of course. Because boy, did I yell.

There are some twists that left me with my jaw on the floor. I hated Samantha Young and how she wrote this book, I really could not take it. There were a few parts where I just wanted to throw my nook at the wall and not even finish this book. But that is when you know you have a great author on your hands.

Because of course I kept reading. And I am SO glad I did. Even when you are hating how the book is going, it is all worth what all happens. Ever single page of this book is a thrill ride and I did not want to let go. She makes up for everything I hated when she resolves something that I was going to let break my heart.

And WOAH! That ending. I feel like that wasn't even an ending. With no spoilers writing in this review all I can let you all know is WTF!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!

Samantha Young, you are amazing. You make me feel every emotion possibly in one book. In every book you write I must say. Please never stop. I do not think I could take it if you did.

Happy Reading All.

Samantha Young's books really are the most addictive I have ever come across! I've recently been reading anything and everything of hers and I've just finished the Tale of the Lunarmorte series. I read three books in one blob, so I'm finding it a little difficult to distinguish the timing of events that occurred in the books. That is also the reason I'm writing a review for all three together.

Even though these characters are all some sort of supernatural beings, they all seem so normal and from the very beginnning I was sucked into the paranormal world of Daylights and Midnights, lycans, magiks, faeries and vampires. When reading I was completely absorbed and when not the series was constantly on my thoughts. Young daringly killed offx quite a few of the important characters (thaxt I loved) *sniff* but I sxuppose it was unavoidxable what with there being a war and all.

Anyways, Samantha Young is one of my favourites, her work is just amazing and very inspiring. I wish her all the success she deserves.

The third and final instalment on the Tale of Lunarmorte series is absolutely AMAZING! It’s non-stop action, I could barely take a breath, I was racing through the book with all the characters, enjoying the twists and turns and the escalating drama. Caia is so kick-ass in this book, I totally love her. The action is one of the best parts of Blood Solstice but I love how Young explains the history of the war and there is a great historical montage in the beginning that just brings something extra to the book.
Without any spoilers, there are some shocks and upset in Blood Solstice and I did inhale with horror a couple of times, but it totally works.
Awesome ending to an awesome series and the world Young has created is left with an open end making me think there might be another series in the works.
Will definitely keep my eye open for other books from this indie author with a difference!

“The Tale of Lunarmorte” Series was so well written that there was never a dull moment and it kept me is suspense the whole time. It was like riding a rollercoaster. There were parts where I cried and others where I laughed and through out the whole book I never lost interest. Oh and did I mention that Caia kicks some serious butt in this book? In Blood Solstice you get the history of the war and how it started. I don’t want to say much more because anything I say will give the story away. I highly recommend this series to all who love vampires, werewolves, witches and Greek Mythology. Believe me, you will NOT be disappointed.

AMAZING!! I didn't think it was possible to love the third book more then the first two but I did! This book is action packed and keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time. There isn't a moment to stop and catch your breath because there is always something happening. I have to admit that this book had me teary eyed a couple times but I loved it. Throughout the book Caia's character is challenged in ever which way mentally and physically but she never gives up. It's refreshing to read a book where the main character isn't completely helpless and always being saved by some guy. Also I enjoyed the fact that the main character wasn't stuck in some stupid love triangle throughout the entire book. Caia knows who she loves and nothing or nobody is going to change that.

I'm kinda torn about this one. I like that it had a happy ending. I'm a sucker for that. But there where moments when I was reading that I felt the plot go dull. And it is confirmed, Lucien is really an ass. He is so frustrating. The way he trusts Caia is just so infuriating! And hello, why does he have to believe Rose? For a mate, he really is substandard! And Caia forgives him easily? I like to throttle him. He doesn't deserve her in my opinion. Anyhoo, I still enjoyed this book in general. Still is a great read.

Ugh! The final installment of the Lunarmorte series was so bad that I couldn't bring myself to finish. The writing became choppy and noisy. Characters became more obnoxious than usual and I felt like choking the heroine to death. Lucien was never a great hero in my opinion and he didn't improve one bit as the series progressed. Another book going to the dump pile. It keeps growing and growing. Sigh...
