For anyone to call Christine Soltis’s Final Moon a werewolf novel would be a great injustice. Final Moon transcends all preconceptions and expectations that a reader may hold toward stories of this particular horror genre. The reader will find no clichés or predictable plot lines here – just pure, unadulterated, diabolical horror. Ms. Soltis takes the whole ‘sins of thy father’ theme to new extremes as she unabashedly tells the story of a young man’s struggle against an evil addiction brought on by his father’s recklessness. Ms. Soltis sets up each and every scene with such vivid and meticulous description that the readers feel they are experiencing the sordid scenes right along with the tormented characters, serving as mute witnesses to the atrocities unfolding before them… Like driving past the scene of a terrible car crash, you cannot look away – even at the risk of hitting the car in front of you, you’ll find that you cannot put this book down until you learn how it all turns out. But for readers seeking a run-of-the-mill horror or monster story, Christine Soltis provides no solace.
