I have read this book a few times and it's so helpful! It's definitely one of my go-to gardening guides. What is great about it is that it is actually a book that you must read instead of a reference guide that you might flip through.

Perfect book for gardeners in the PNW. I have highlighted a lot and this is a great resource to look back on. Highly recommend for beginners and people interested in growing fruit trees as there is a lot of good information!

Very clear and helpful. I can see getting a copy for my permanent bookshelf to keep as reference.

Unlike most gardening books, I actually read this one cover-to-cover. The text was engaging and it inspired me to get out there and get gardening. Unfortunately, I don't live in the perfect area of the coastal Pacific Northwest that allows for year-round gardening without a greenhouse, so most of this didn't apply to me. However, I did learn some great things about organic weed-control and how to better manage my summer gardens.

Unfortunately, the pictures are all in black and white, so it's not easy to see what is going on in most of them. I'm sure it was to save on printing costs, but color photos would have really made this book shine.

Was simultaneously reading 2 books on gardening in the Pacific NW. This one was less technical and easier to understand for me, the beginning gardener, yet (seemed) very informative and thorough. A very helpful chapter on a year-round gardening calendar was provided to give us a general timeline of when to do what. Will determine this book's true value after I plant and grow some veggies. This book also included sections on growing fruits. Left some chapters (pest control, growing from seeds, etc) for after I become a proficient gardener.

This book is a fine supplement to other gardening books I have for the Pacific Northwest. It's not my number one go-to book, but it has plenty of useful information to help me make the most of my garden.

Pretty much nothing you haven't read before. The section on pests and diseases was the most useful part of the book, since it focuses solely on pests and diseases (and organic solutions) you're apt to need in the Pacific Northwest.
