Would you prefer to be as snug as a bug rolled up in a rug? Like two cosy bats in thick woolly hats? As hot as three pigs in big purple wigs? Or . . . Would you prefer to be like ten sneezy kittens without any mittens? Like nine frozen frogs in huge wooden clogs? As cool as eight bees on miniature skis? George has to decide for himself on a day out at the park with Mum. This funny book of crazy combinations is guaranteed to make kids laugh.
Hertfordshire-based writer of books. Lives with one husband, one daughter, one son, one mad chocolate labrador, one aged tabby cat, five gorgeous bunnies. Likes animals (no, really?), Marmite and messing about on stage. Dislikes spiders, celery and arrogant people.
Great illustrations, full of color and wonderful animals. I liked the way the sentences rhymed and the author used the images of hot and cold and numbers when she talked to her child. Using your Imagination is so much fun.
This book was so much fun for toddler story time! There are lots of rhyming elements, so it's great for predicting what's next. The colors are super vibrant, and there are tons of opportunities for kids to name animals, colors, pieces of clothing, etc. Definitely using again.
George and his mum are headed to the park but it's a grey and gloomy day. As mom bundles him up to keep warm she happily showers him with words of love and encouragement such as, "Would you prefer to be as snug as a bug rolled up in a rug? " and when George is having such a great time that he starts to remove his outer gear she steps in with such words of wisdom as, " Would you prefer to be like ten sneezy kittens without any mittens? " A fun look at how to teach kids about being outdoors during the colder seasons but overall just a really funny silly way to entertain a child with pictures that are colorful and vibrant. A definite recommend.
