This book would be appropriate for all ages in elementary school.

This book has short vignettes about problems students might run into in their lives. From what to do when an animal is injured, to what to do if you witness a burglary, to what a girl should do after her first menstruation.

This is a different type of informational book, because it informs students on what to do during scenarios that could happen in real life. I believe it's never too early to talk to children about daunting, or even dangerous, situations.

I don't know if I would use this for lessons, but I would have students read through it to inform them on situations. I would possibly read a few vignettes and talk to students if they've ever experienced anything that was mentioned. I would choose the more approachable portions. Bullying, broken bikes, bee stings, tick bites, etc.

My kids really like this one. We read it as part of our morning time a few situations every day. I even learned stuff, like the best way to remove a tick! It’s pretty out of date though, so I wish I could find something similar that includes situations like online scams and or talking to strangers online… things that kids today are likely to encounter. Nothing with computers or smart phones are included.

This is part of Guest Hollow’s homeschool Health & Anatomy course for kids. I’m glad it’s included, since it covers a lot of different situations. Some parts are a little dated, though (it seems to be from MY childhood days and includes such anachronisms as pay phones), so maybe it can count as a history credit too (lol).

This is a great book with four sections of various scenarios. Each scenario has two pages, the description of the issue and the recommended actions to take on the reverse side. This gives parents and children an opportunity to brainstorm ideas about what to do and then discuss the book answer afterward. Though it is most appropriate for children over the age of 10, I found it to be a great way to introduce some scary topics in a non-threatening way. And I was surprised, but our girls loved this book, probably because of all the interaction and our discussions throughout. It took us a long time to read this book because we would only cover 2-3 scenarios each night.
