With hopeful evidence in hand, Matt continues the search for his brother as physical reminders of him are being destroyed or attacked back home, including Riley, who holds her own secrets close.

The story alternates between thrilling combat scenes in Afghanistan and Pakistan as Matt pursues his brother's fate and attempts to complete a politically sensitive mission while Amanda races to uncover the truth about her father.

Good read

This book starts out slow but by the third chapter it pulls you in and holds you to the end.

Moderately decent military action story, but not great.
The most interesting part of the story was the relationship and machinations of the divorced parents - particularly the mother and how she used her child as a weapon against her military ex-husband. I suspect the accounts of how the child is turned against the parent with lies and hate in order to get money is accurate.
Not sure I believe the military action descriptions in this book, but it still interesting. There were a couple of unexpected twists, as well as some you could see coming as you read.
Not sure the sequel will be worth the time to read.

Loved this book

Tata did it again! He wrote a book that was full of suspense from the beginning to the end. If you love a book that's full of intrigue and danger, but is also the heartfelt story of a daughter trying to figure out her true feelings for her father, you won't be disappointed. I'm only sorry this is the last book of the Garrett brothers. I'll have to check out some of his new books.

This story is a drastic change from most military thrillers. A major part of the story is what is happening at home the daughter of a main character.
It shows a real problem with having manipulating parents sabotaging the relationship between the child and the other parent.
There are two major battles going on in this story, one in the war zone and the other back at home.
The author once again did a great job at providing an edge of one’s seat reading experience.

Mystery, military and family wars, with psychological manipulation.

I enjoyed reading how a self-involved teen developes into a decent young woman who reignites a relationship with her father who is a general. The Pakistan and Afghan story line was well written. There is something for most people in this book. Well done.

This author give a different look about what deployed soldiers face from their families. Their lives are in constant threat on the battlefield but the Hidden Threat is from the manipulation of their family at home. This is a nail bitter and you are thrown off the thread several times.

Really enjoyed this book. Quick read and you cannot help but love Amanda Garrett and hate her mom and grandmother. This is one of those books were you feel real good at the end reading. Quick pace and a nice back and forth within the story.

Great Thriller about Afghanistan

Very strange 3rd book

This is nothing like the first 2 books, where the stories focused on the 2 brothers
This one is split between following the brothers in Afghanistan and for some strange reason then following Zach's daughter going through a coming of age crisis.
I don't get it and I didn't like it. I won't be bothering with book 4

some how Matt and Zach are always in the middle of it

Good story of danger for Zach and Matt but the true story comes from Zach’s daughter Amanda. When they think Zach was killed in action, Amanda’s mother and grandmother scheme to get Zach’s life insurance. Somehow Amanda wises up in time but with others either hurt or dead.

huge deviation

First two in this series were war tactics and storyline. This one was about a high school daughter of a protagonist from earlier books but was just preachy and not the same genre. Sad.

Starts with a promising military adventure, which quickly degenerates into a Stephen King-like family horror saga. I would have preferred it to stay with just the military bent.
