I have two copies of this book - the nicely version published by Estes Book Company, and an earlier home-published version. I used them both with my Primary kids (I taught the 8-9 year olds last year when we studied the Book of Mormon).
I quickly realized that the book was valuable to me as a tool for personal devotion. I could get the spirit of the message in a different way, streamlined and simplified, like it was speaking to a child. Somehow that distilled message seemed more powerful and direct. Sometimes I felt a loss, but usually felt a surge of interest and appreciation.
I knew Lynn while was active on Mormon-L and other LDS lists. She did the work bak then, and only time will tell the scope of her gift to the Church. I value this among the 50 or so most treasured volumes on the shelf!
I picked up the Hard Back version of this whilst on my mission in Boston. It takes the Book of Mormon and dummies it down into "Modern English" it's laughable.
