An easy read with plenty of good stories about Texas Ranger Capt. Hughes in the old West. Skimmed some chapters but overall an enjoyable boos.

This is a good book, somewhat dated, of the career of John R. Hughes, one of the four great Texas Ranger captains. The chapters reveal certain incidents in his life, but pretty much ends when he retires from the Texas Rangers in 1915 - although he lived to 93 years of age.
