Thrasher never took chances with his freedom. Johanna gambled with her life. Only a few have escaped the New Order... Will they?

Johanna has two choices: go willingly into the repro-M order, or infiltrate the refugee camp. She never plans to fall for the survivalist who helps her escape. With pressure mounting, will she follow through with the plan, or lose the love of her life?

I do love sci-fi but this one fell short for me. There are too many unanswered questions to the story.
This book held my attention, but it wasn't arousing which is why I have it ranked as 3 1/2 divas. The heat was a spark. The book could have actually been written without any sex in it and been just as good. Ms. Kayn created a solid storyline. If she spent more effort in her world building, she could really write a great series. I see great potential for her. I think if she took out the sex and switched to Urban Fantasy, she would gain a greater audience.
Double Agent is a mix of Margret Atwood's Handmaiden's Tale with the TV show Jericho. Then toss in a bit of the Red Army from communist China. I love the concept and how the New Order exists. I am interested enough to want to read her second book in this series. I recommend this book for those who enjoy urban fantasy Reviewed by Book Addict
I'm not sure how to categorize this one. I didn't think it was a particularly erotic book. The sex scenes were okay and it wasn't coming of age sexuality book. Actually, now that I think about it, the sex really wasn't needed. I did however enjoy the book and the storyline. It was an interesting "what-if" scenario. This is very popular in Japanese anima. I enjoyed it enough that I read it the day I received it for review.
Ms. Kayn's writing voice is clear and crisp. The story moved at a decent pace. There were things that weren't fully explained but I think that was okay. This was a short story so I can't expect the world building to be too elaborate or in depth. The characters were good. I liked Joanna and Thrasher was a nice alpha male. I recommend this book to anyone who wants a good read about what could happen in the future.
Katie, BookingIt-"The mixture of mystery, romance, and drama make Double Agent impossible to put down. The pacing continuously pushes the story to the end as the pages keep turning faster and faster.
Double Agent is a great short story with not only a strong romantic plot, but also a wonderful story of finding happiness even in the most dire of times. Highly recommended!" BookingIt Grade: A
