Functioning as a kind of quick-reference guide to parenting, this concise book discusses child development, describes basic temperament traits, and offers many practical child-guidance tools as it introduces a problem-solving process known as STAR Parenting. Parents will be able to use the information to more effectively deal with children’s feelings and reduce power struggles.
book recommended by our sweetie pediatrician, nothing groundbreaking in here to me, but it’s short and concise and an intro to gentle parenting before “gentle parenting” was probably even considered a thing
This is a short and sweet little guide to gentle parenting, with lots of practical tools good for toddlers. Most of it is stuff I already do, and it's not necessarily unique, but I appreciate how clear and direct these techniques are.
This handbook has a basic guide to child discipline. It didn't go into tons of details (although the author has other books that do that). Thing nice thing about this book is that it is small enough that my husband would read it. I figure if I read the longer version and he reads this one I can catch him up and we'll be in the same place (although still understanding that he is going to parent the way he is going to parent and that's okay).
