Kindling Does for Firewood

Rate this book
Headstrong Margaret and her hapless boyfriend William fall in and out of love. From their first date, this boy-meets-girl novel comes to life as we hear both sides of the story. William and Margaret work their way through the familiar territories of frustrated love, earnest politics, sexual temptations, and fear of impending boredom. This is a novel about delight and joy, anger and sex, humor, and bad behavior in a world where people often hide their deepest feelings. But more importantly, it is a world where people really do care about each other.

This is another one I just keep coming back to - he manages to weave a Peter Pan theme through a grungy university romance (with a Lolita-style sub-story) in Melbourne with ease.
