This book is so much concerned by this building was built with stones and that by mud, instead of focusing on the real beauty of any building, the resemblance of it, what did it take to build it. Not only this, but the author calls the pyramids of Egypt "a heap of stones above a tombe" ! Add to that, the many historical errors, and flaws; there are many eras and great buildings the book utterly missed. If you are looking to read about the beauty of architecture around the globe, and through the ages, this is not the book I would recommend for you !

A reference book for architects and archeologists which includes ground plans, side views and elevations, drawings and photographs.

Probably somewhat dated by now, but a huge and ambitious effort for its time.
