The whole story seemed stuck on the fact that hero wrote a novel and used their previous relationship as the basis for his novel & how the heroine felt about that. Oh, she was upset about a couple of other things (don't want to spoil), too. But, again, the author never seemed to move off of these subjects & the hero having to constantly defend his actions that by half thru the book I was saying "alright, already, I get that she isn't happy about *this*, *this* & *this." It made me think she started this story and didn't know really what to do with it or where to go with it so used the repetition as filler. I don't remember reading this author before so not sure if this is a standard trademark for her or not.

It's rated a one star as that is the one for "didn't like it" here on GR. Most other sites have a one star for books that the reader hated & the two star for the didn't like books. Didn't hate the book--just didn't enjoy it.

The h and H had a relationship 2,5 years before. But the H was married to another woman. The h already knew this since the first day they met.

They had a love affair for a few months. She then gave him an ultimatum to leave his wife. He couldn’t leave his wife immediately so she left without a trace.

After 2,5 years he has found her. He now is divorced and he wants to be with her again.

I have a thing for a very determined, smitten H who relentlessly pursues the h. And this H is exactly that.
