Steele runs into a young man on the run from a lynch mob. The boy tries to take Steele's horse and make a getaway. Unfortunately, the kid picked the wrong man to rob. The mob catches the boy and string him up. He says he was innocent of murder, but the lynchers don't want to hear it. Steele thinks he might be telling the truth and rides into town to check it out.

Kind of an old west mystery here. Lots of shifty suspects to choose from. The ending threw me. I guessed wrong. Made perfect sense, though.
