In the small farming community of Afton-Elberon in northern North Carolina in the year 1935, a poor tenant farmer, William Henry Short is unaware of the spiritual forces looming behind the scenes. He has faced uncanny tragedy upon tragedy as he struggles to take care of his family. His first born, James Henry Short has just been killed in an accident at the age of eight. William, resents God for the calamity that has occurred, but finds out that he is not alone. Strangers appear. and little did William know, that they had been sent, to set him straight in his life's journey and to bring he and his extended family into a relationship with a Holy God and his Son Jesus Christ.
