Cadogan Cain, a photojournalist with a secret, bands together with his girlfriend Angelina "Angie" Bianco and his best friend Lieutenant Robert McLean of the Niagara Falls Police CID to solve one of the worst crimes in the history of their city. The mass murder of ten teenagers in a place known as Devil's Hole.
Their investigation dredges up the past of a historic site and of their personal lives while taking the reader on a tour of the city most tourists will never see.
They face an antagonist whose sociopathic personality demands he get what he wants no matter who gets in his way, but even he discovers that sometimes danger isn't always where you expact it to be. The climatic ending proves that some secrets should remain buried.
Marvin Allan Williams is a Yankee writer living in Dixie. He is the author of the Cadogan Cain Mystery series and the upcoming Frank Love Case Files. Besides writing he enjoys reading, photography, and good conversation over food and a variety of spirits. He was born and raised in Niagara Falls, New York, has lived in Germany and Korea, but now resides in Fayetteville, North Carolina with his lovely wife Nancy and their crazy dog Nikki.
A bizarre multiple murder, crackly dialogue and a fast-paced plot highlight this first novel by friend and Goodreads author Marv Williams. The book kept me guessing to the end. I particularly enjoyed the "bromance" between Cad and his old chum Lt. Bob McLean and hope they will team up again in the next book.
