September 22, 2023I don't know if this is the author's first time of writing but she needs a new hobby because this was a royal mess of epic portions! I thankfully did not pay for this but I wasted my precious time on this mess of a story that I can't get back.
Besides the constant misspelling & bad grammar (does author even speak English? Does she not know about spell check?), she uses the MCs names & other characters in the wrong context and starts paragraphs in a 3rd party voice when it should be in the first.
The characters have zero (nada!) chemistry! Heroine is supposed to be smart because she is a Lawyer but comes off as someone with no personality and a doormat! Hero is a selfish egomaniac asshole. He has zero attraction or love for her and a few ILY's in the end does not make it so.
Plot? What plot? H & h supposedly met & fell in love in college. They dated for 6 months but never had sex. Because H's Father didn't approve of her, he told him to drop her and date OW of his choice and that is what he did. Spineless wimp you say? Yep.
Heroine, heartbroken doesn't know why he kicked her to the curb but she thinks it was something she did to turn him off. She goes to talk to him at his apartment and sees him coming out with OW and all that was said about that when they reunite in the present is that he left her to "protect" her as his father would have ruined her college tuition and career. So he was forced to have sex with OW? Lol.
Then in the present, since they share mutual friends, one of her GFs arrange a blind date with him that he ruins because he is a douche. But because she is weak & stupid, he convinces her to marry him & have his kid because his Father wants him to marry some OW of his choice.
On the night of their honeymoon, the asshole gets skunk drunk and has sex with heroine but he doesn't remember it the next morning and stupid idiot heroine not only doesn't ever find out about that little nugget but she also gets pregnant on the first try.
Then we have the douche constantly shouting & harping at her for one thing or another because he is frustrated with his Father's antics to hurt him & his friends. There's a scene where they are coming back from the non-honeymoon and he is giving her the cold shoulder so she starts to cry silently and he sees it but says nothing and doesn't even care.
He never gave a shit about her - not in past or present. He totally forgot her in the past and doesn't really pursue her in the present because he wants her in a romantic sense. He only approaches her to ask her to marry him because he is selfish & needs to best his Father as he doesn't want to marry someone that his Father chose for him. He goes behind h's back to manipulate her and never thinks about her and what she needs. As for heroine? Well, the doormat idiot that she was could only think with her vagina then her actual head.
And to top it off, we have a lame & unresolved plot in the end where the person leaking info to his Father is never brought to light though reader is left to believe it is one of his close friends but we never learn for sure or why he would betray him - nor who his other siblings are which was a big deal of the whole angst he had with his Father to take away his business.
Anyway, this was a mess as I said and I can understand why there are no other reviews as I write this one. I'm a sucker for 2nd chance romances if they are done right but this one had absolutely nothing that I found interesting or entertaining. This is what one would call bad writing on steroids. AVOID people. LOL.

This is book three in The Billionaires Blind Date series and it is Cade and April’s story. Cade and April have history because they used to be in a relationship until Cade’s father stepped in and gave Cade an ultimatum that ended with him walking away from April even though he didn’t want to. Cade’s father is getting out of hand and causing chaos, mayhem and getting dangerous and Cade is trying to sort it out on his own without involving his friends and now it is also Cade’s turn to go on a blind date but things don’t go well. April spent years in law school and also passed her bar exam only to end up doing a job where she was constantly doing legal contracts and not the job that she had trained for and realised that she couldn’t continue doing this for much longer. When April’s best friend Kyla’s who runs a blind date restaurant wants to set April up on a date even though April doesn’t want to go she gives in to her friend only to be matched up with Cade that ended in disaster and complicating everything. Cade needs to make a decision on what to do about his father’s threats and ends up asking April to marry him and he will help her with her career so that is what they do but the attraction and chemistry between them has never gone away and the more time that they are together feelings start to develop but what will the outcome be for them in the end. Will Cade manage to deal with his parents once and for all and will April and Cade get the happiness and future that they always wanted and deserved. I absolutely love this book and series and I can’t wait to read the next book.

I was very excited for Cades story since he’s a large fixture in the previous two novels. I wish there was more of him and April in this book. The romance and friendship btwn them is rather bland. More angst and suspense than romance.
