Bob Kane (born Robert Kahn; October 24, 1915 – November 3, 1998) was an American comic book artist and writer, credited along with Bill Finger as the creator of the DC Comics superhero Batman. He was inducted into both the comic book industry's Jack Kirby Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 1996.
If one asks me who is my favorite superhero, it would be Batman, hands down. He is super because he does not need to be bitten by a radiated bat, come from another planet or be a son of a god. He is a man who uses his fullest potential to give justice where it needs to be served. And as a principle, he disciplines without killing, and has gone to that psyche even if his history tells us that he is damaged (who wouldn't having seen your parents get killed in front of you and dream about it night after night, after night). It does not hurt too, that he is a billionaire and has ultra-super cool gadgets for toys.
I have seen many Batman from the early Adam West, Tim Burton's version, the acclaimed placement of protruding nipples in Clooney's costume and even the cartoons. Loved his justice in Justice League, saw him in his prime in his animated series and grow old in Batman and Beyond. But it was in Christopher Nolan's direction that I fell in love with the man in Batman hence finding this visual guide is a wonderful treat.
with this, I rave and cannot wait for the next of Nolan-Bates' tandem, the Dark Knight Rises.
Beatty offers readers a comprehensive survey of Christopher Nolan's re-imagination of the Batman origins mythology. Effective use of still-photos from the movie, suitable descriptions, diagrams, and a map of Gotham city pack this book full of details for enthusiasts.
