This edition features the exact same content as the traditional text in a convenient, three-hole- punched, loose-leaf version. Books à la Carte also offer a great value—this format costs 35% less than a new textbook.
The Third Edition of Microbiology with Diseases by Taxonomy is the most cutting-edge microbiology book available, offering unparalleled currency, accuracy, and assessment. It begins with a focus on emerging diseases and diseases you will encounter later in clinical settings. Study aids include end-of-chapter practice that encompasses both visual and conceptual understanding.
this was one of the weirdest textbooks i've ever read, both in organization and content, and is leading me to start a petition to make "jokes" in textbooks illegal and punishable by penalty of DEATH.
Extremely interesting and an overview of a wide range of microbiology topics including bacteria, archaea, pathogenic eukaryotes and viruses. I read this as part of a condensed course and I wish I had more time to take in all the information but overall it was fascinating and I now wash my hands far more often just because. It was interesting to also apply the concepts to the current SARS-CoV-2 outbreak otherwise known as COVID-19.
I had to add this on my list of books I'm reading, because it's about the only thing I think I'll be able to read over the next little while. It's the text for the class I am teaching this fall.
A great read, especially for a textbook. Not that I read all of it, or even most of it, but it was still really good and very encouraging to know that I had it available.
