Rhys turned to writing children’s books under her married name, Janet Quin-Harkin. Her first picture book was an immediate success and won several awards. I read all these books in junior high/middle school and fell in love with them. I'm afraid to read them again, but back then, they were like a major part of my development. I've never forgotten them, even the theme of the prom!
