Great (often critical, sometimes over-adulatory) summary of AC and its career (into the nineties), and its relation to NF's career. Gives reader a chance to see how/why authors (including NF) have gone back to AC to think through old problems. Footnotes lead everywhere, as Frye has been a giant. Hamilton has been kind enough to repair and contextualize some of Frye's more dubious assertions. Nice "answer book" to AC.
