Precisely At Dusk

Rate this book
She arrived precisely at dusk.

She had her instructions. She knew the choice that lay before her. Each step she took brought her closer to the thing she most desired…and feared. The decision was hers.

All she had to do was submit. Could she?

A short, flirty little number with plenty of suspense and teasing moments. I loved the opening starting line, 'Precisely at Dusk,' and you could just imagine the anticipation of the heroine as she went to meet her mentor. The details are exquisite and the author does a fantastic job of setting the scene.

A juicy first morsel which left me wanting more!

Upon completing Precisely At Dusk I can honestly state that it was a tease. In a hyper-anticipatory, sexual suspence way. Translation: Well crafted with excellant execution.
A.E Connelly has written a story I had planned to read later and when sneaking a peek at the first few lines, just had to finish.
Without the need for third-person perspective, a foundation of a Dominates anticipation awaiting and satisfying their submissive was interesting in first-person, due to the mental imagery A.E. Connelly created. This leaving me satifyied as the female submissive's inital internal indecision was discribed in such a way I found myself breathing through her anixety with her.
No need for the leather, yet, not forgetting the necesary toys and leashes a D/s relationship desires, the male protagonist was clad in everyday attire while sporting more than everyday intent.
If granted one wish for Precisely At Dusk, it would be for it to find its feet and dig it's heels in for a full length novel in which I could enjoy the D/s relationship for the duration of their weekend they merely began and gratefully delve into the psyche of each character and the in-and-outs behind the need for the relationship.

You can read this during a commercial while watching television.

I was left with not much after reading this story. It delves with the submissive side to role play. With the slave/ master, and how far you are actually willing to take yourself.

The reader was taken to the beginning and left hanging, leaving your imagination to try and finish the story. Very unsatisfying.

Though short (about 12 pages) there was alot packed into it.. You had anticipation, commands, spanking and submission.. All the makings of a very hot short story... The downside being that it was a short story.. Still it was something that I liked well enough to read more from this author... So why 3 stars? Because it was enough to wet my appetite but didn't curve it or even satisfy it..

I really enjoyed what there was of this story. It was a delicious little appetizer to "what could have been." I would love to have the full story to learn about how these people met and ended up here. I would also love to see how the weekend progressed...

Too short. Had great potential to become a novella. I wanted more.
