Rate this book
It started with a little limp, but soon, Victoria could hardly walk without holding on to the wall or furniture, could not manage steps by herself, yet doctors did not know what was wrong. Little did her family know that before too long, she and they would be on a roller coaster ride fighting for her life. In this book of poetry, Catherine L’Herisson takes us on an intimate journey behind the scenes in her first grandchild’s struggle for life.

This is a powerful story of love and hope, told from the point of view of a little girl's grandmother. Day by agonizing day, Catherine L'Herisson watched her granddaughter struggle against a killer which threatened to take her life at every turn. In beautiful poetry, Mrs. L'Herisson tells the inspiring story of her granddaughters fight for life.

I'm sure that writing this book was personally cathartic and may be comforting to families going through similar situations but I found the writing lackluster and devoid of 'poetry'. It's more like journal entries of a granddaughter's illness.

Blame me. I am not familial. I greatly enjoyed the author's "The Limping Mermaid" but this is not my meat.

NOTE: May also be found with the same cover under the title, "Roller Coaster."
