I read this book while preparing to do two of the most basic RYA courses – Level 1 and Level 2 Sailing – on successive weekends. It covers all the key skills needed to get started in sailing, whether you’re on a dinghy or a super yacht. It has clear descriptions of sailing manoeuvres like tacking and gybing, good illustrations and explanations of sailing jargon. I will read it again when I book the competent crew course.
