Adam Blade is the house name for the Working Partners Ltd. ghostwriters who write the Beast Quest and Sea Quest series.

Adam Blade is in his late twenties, and was born in Kent, England. His parents were both history teachers and amateur artists, and Adam grew up surrounded by his father’s paintings of historic English battles – which left a lifelong mark on his imagination. He was also fascinated by the ancient sword and shield that hung in his father’s office. Adam’s father said they were a Blade family heirloom.

As a boy, Adam would spend days imagining who could have first owned the sword and shield. Eventually, he created a character – Tom, the bravest boy warrior of them all. The idea for Beast Quest was born.

When Adam grew up and decided that he wanted to be a writer, he was stuck for ideas – until he remembered the old sword and shield, and the imaginary boy he had created when he was young. Adam decided to bring Tom fully to life so that readers could go on the kind of adventures that he always wanted to when he was that age… And still does, even though he’s grown up!

When he’s not writing Beast Quest books, Adam enjoys visiting museums and ancient battle sites. His main hobbies are fencing and football. He also spends a lot of time at home running around after his two exotic pets – a tarantula named Ziggy, and a capuchin monkey named Omar. These little rascals were the inspiration for two of the Beasts that Tom faces on his Quest – Arachnid and Claw.

Sadly, Adam does not have his own Fire-Dragon or Horse-Man. But he really wishes he did!

I predominantly read this book to see why my nephew loves the series so much. He told me that it doesn't really matter which order you read the books in, so I picked up one of the ones I had at work to try.
I have read the very first Beast Quest book, but this was one of the other mini series within the whole. I can definitely see why they appeal to children. An excellent introduction to adventure chapter books, and for me preferable to the Daisy Meadows Rainbow Fairies which are aimed at a similar age.
Tom and Eleanor show some excellent team work in defeating the monster and pirates in this quest/adventure.

Beast Quest fortsätter att imponera på min son. Han tyckte dock att Maskmonstret var i läskigaste laget ibland. Del 4 börjar vi läsa snarast!

Ok this series isn't the greatest but this installment was straight up not for kids. Worms burrow into skin like some horror movie. The stinking cape of animal skins is somehow still alive and howling in agony, seeping pus. I skipped over so so much of this one. Reading to aes 4 & 7.

A more horror orientated then usual story. My boys being older loved the more gruesome beast. If you have younger (under 5's) children it might ne a tad bit gruesome for them. (Slight spoiler) Hecton is a beast the pulls the bodies of his victims into his cloak and they appear as stitches in his cloak. The gruesome theme continues all through the book. Personally I like that fact that in the action scenes Tom is actually striking blow kicks and punches on his opponents, there are some great heroic moments in this book. I also like that fact that at book 45 Ton is not a little boy with a sword and magic shield, he is portrayed as a seasoned fighter, even the insults and taunts are more grown up. Another great book in the series are you read for the next one I know we are.
