Twin Text: Bat’s Big Game By Margaret Read MacDonald 2008

Rationale: I chose Bat’s Big Game because it has a great discussion point surrounding Bat. He convinces the animal team he belongs on their side. When the animals start to lose, he convinces the birds he belongs on their team.

Text Structure: Description

4) We would use a Venn diagram to compare and contrast bats and animals, then bats and birds. I would have the students tell me which team bat should be on using the information from both books and why he should be on that team.
