About the author

Born in Montmorillon, Vienne (but currently living in Paris), she is sometimes called the "High Priestess of French erotic literature." Deforges was the first woman to own and operate a publishing house in France. Over the years, she has been censored, prosecuted, and heavily fined for publishing "offensive" literature. She was formerly president of the Société des Gens de Lettres de France and a member of the Prix Femina jury.

The last time I went to Paris I felt like reading something erotic. I went into my favourite bookstore chain and asked an innocent looking shop clerk for advice. He directed me towards this book and that's how I acquired this compilation of short erotic and perverted stories.⁣⁣

I didn't not like this book but I wouldn't say that I loved it either. For me the topics of rape, murder and violation were a bit too much. Interestingly enough, the stories and fantasies would have needed to be a bit more banal to make a mark in my mind.⁣⁣

While Régine Deforges has some beautifully written stories in this book, there is waaaaaaaaay too much rape/sexual assault in this book for it to be considered something I would encourage others to read.

Original, divertissant, perturbant.

Plusieurs nouvelles ont un aspect de violence sexuelle ; l'avant dernière, « les amants de la Forêt-Noire », est particulièrement horrible.
