While it does sometimes read like religious stereo instructions and is short on explaining the rationale, Olitzky does a good job of explaining how to do the things and does so with respect to Reform, Conservative, and Orthodox practices. It is in very clear language and does generally give good sources for the explanation at the end of each topic. The bibliography is useful in and of itself.
