Good Book for undergraduates. It will clear your concepts but it is not enough for any research purpose.

It's also good for pharmacologists, however, like most books, it requires integrating with other material.

A good and complete microbiology textbook with a classical approach to the subject.
While this isn't my favorite textbook it's an excellent choice for anyone taking university microbiology courses.
I would love an update on the approach towards one that encompasses a more ecological point of view, after all, microorganisms are a fundamental part of the environment and ourselves.

Not too shabby a textbook. Served me very well along my undergrad studies, in which I had three Microbiology courses (basic, applied and environmental), so it's pretty well-rounded. Nicely illustrated too, and easy to follow, and has also the bonus of some very interesting anecdotes and curiosities.

An informative book for an introduction to microbiology. Detailed descriptions and diagrams, often more than necessary for me.
