For those of us who have Parkinson's, this book is inspirational. Tom voices some of the fears we might have but are afraid to speak out loud or even to ourselvs. For those who know someone who has PD, this story will give you insights to what PD is like. And, for those who want to read about walking 4500 miles of the English coast, with great descriptions that make you want to be there, I can tell you that you will not be disaappointed. A truly good book!
A true account of a man with Parkinson’s who decided to walk round the coast of Britain in a year, over 4000 miles. Fantastic achievement. I was disappointed in the beginning but it was a fantastic achievement and after a while I tuned into his way of writing and his sense of humour.
Tom Isaacs has early onset Parkinson's Disease. This book is about his walk around the coast of Britain to raise money for research. I thought the subject matter would be interesting and liked the book but it didn't really 'grab' me. Tom goes over the same material / thoughts over again and this, for me, detracted from the book. That sounds a bit mean because obviously it was all a massive deal for him.
