Rutta changed from a delinquent to a nice guy because of his new roommate, Miyagi Kodama. Kodama was unsure of his own feelings after Rutta's confession. After seeing Rutta's injuries caused from excessive fighting, Kodama finally decided to face the truth and accepted him.
And here's another exception to "I don't like high school stories". Rutta and Kodama are roommates, and on first sight don't have much in common. Rutta is the rich son and a bit of a delinquent, while Kodama is a gentle and sweet boy. However, sharing a room with Kodama and being his friend changes Rutta, and finally he falls in love with Kodama and confesses to him. At first, Kodama doesn't know how to react, but he soon realizes his own feelings and the two of them become a couple.
It's a very sweet story, and the two of them are a nice couple. Also, the two of them figuring out there future together makes for a really nice read. It has some of the usual BL tropes, of course, but the dynamic between the two of them is lovely. It's a fun series with an underlying gentleness, I guess you could say, and it has very pretty art.
I bought this as part of my "no more scanlations" project I started in 2014. (Meaning I also plan to buy the manga I read as scanlation and liked enough to read them at least twice.)

(Review from after re-read of the trilogy) Compared to book 2 and 3 this one is rather weak, but still really good! There are only two points I'd critisise, one more than the other.
First and foremost, the extra story about two unrelated characters was unnecessary and pretty boring imo. I didn't like the story of Rutta and Kodama to be interrupted by that.
Secondly, it kind of starts the relationship between Rutta and Kodama in a rush. You only understand how adorable and wonderful they are together until a bit later. They're really a great couple, as you see more and more throughout the series. It's definitely my absolute favourite Yaoi manga ever!
I remember being recommended this manga through Tumblr several years ago, in which user kenmahh wrote, "Want a yaoi where there is no abuse, stalking, hating girls for liking the gay guy (not knowing that hes gay) and with positive female friendship? Well here you go" -- later adding that the anatomy is also pretty good (referring to the infamous "Yaoi hands").
Unfortunately, Rutta & Kodama has not been officially imported into the U.S., but you can read a fan translation on MangaHere. I read the first two volumes, but never got around to finishing the last one--probably because I didn't want it to end so soon!
The relationship, while they did get together pretty fast, was so sweet! Rutta even listens to Kodama's protests against having sex with him, and later on, asks if he's okay while they are doing it. There's an instance where Kodama tells Rutta not to treat him like an object upon the delinquent declaring, "He's mine!" A warning I should give out, though, is that there are a handful of graphic sex scenes between these two teens (but they might as well be 18, since they do eventually make college plans, and ; plus, the age of consent in Japan is different), so if that's something that you're uncomfortable seeing, I'd suggest you steer away from this.
There's a mini story devoted to these two completely different characters, and, while I did like their first intimate scene, the second one seemed to veer more into the typical "Seme takes uke by surprise, and doesn't listen to his pleads" scenario. A bonus I can give to that one is the fact that Tatsumi admits he's gay, rather than denying it.

A solid story. The passage of time is kinda weird towards the end but it doesn't really matter nor effect the main story beats. A very feel-good story. Very cute. Very lovely. What's that old weeb word? Moe? It's that. I really like how it's slice of life for most of it and then the big conflict at the end isn't some dumb cliche but rather, actual character growth.
This is a pretty cute series so far. Mildly explicit. Love the relationship dynamic. The story hasn't been too detailed yet with the main couple, but I'm hoping for a deeper storyline in the next volume!
It's so sweet and smooth. I just want to hug them tightly 🤍 Desde la primera vez que lo leí en el 2014, trato de reread it cada año porque se volvió en una historia especial.
The first chapter was abrupt, missing some depth. Aside from that the directness of the characters was really refreshing. No going in circles and such, they face their own feelings and each other with honesty. Of course there are issues like family, jealousy, anxiety about the future and such, but all those are addressed very down-to-earth, no big dramas. I really very much enjoyed that :) And I have to say both of them are really sweet :P The art style is really good, especially Ruttas facial expressions, as well as perspectives. He is just adorable.
While I did enjoy reading this series - there were moments where I totally got the feels - I felt like there was too much sex. Like, yes, sex is good, sex is fine - but there's a limit. They literally have sex every chapter. All those pages could have been used for more character development, or plot. They never expanded on Rutta's family and his history with them, and Kodama's outburst about no wanting to hold Rutta back (this was towards the end of the series, like second last chapter) didn't really have a satisfying resolution, in my opinion. Honestly, I wanted more fluff (for the resolution. The manga itself had a decent amount of cute moments). Completed: June 12, 2017

An adorable story about Rutta and Kodama, roommates who fall in love while attending school. Even though they're opposites (Rutta is the school punk who likes to start fights, and Kodama is quiet, laid back and always thinks of others) their interactions with each other are really sweet. There are plenty of fluffy, heartwarming moments, so if that's your thing, this is perfect for you!
5stars for the two chapters of Tatsumi x Torao's relationship, 3stars for the main pairing of this series. Ngl I only continued reading this series because I hoped there'd be more of Tatsumi/Torao so while I love this volume for having them the overall series is a disappointment.
Rutta, the school bully (cutest bully EVER) falls for Kodama, his roommate, they act completely adorable together, the end. The only thing I don't like about this story is that it doesn't take up the whole volume and the second, two-part story isn't as cute.
it had it's mundane happiness but i cried with Kodama because it really is hard not to show your obsessive side to loved ones. Rutta is adorable as well! It was a very sweet pice so I loved it overall
Exceptional yaoi title. These two are too cute for words. Their relationship could have given diabetes, but didn't. I read this repeatedly because I loved it so much.
