Enticed, the sixth book in the Witches of Santa Anna series of novellas....
Natalia Moore is the new girl at Santa Anna Prep, and all she wants to do is fly under the radar -- get to her classes, meet a few friends, and try not to make a total fool of herself in the meantime. But when handsome and popular Campbell Elliot goes out of his way to be nice to the new girl, Natalia's plan to go unnoticed flies out the window.
Cam's hot, but he's completely off-limits. Raine Marsden, the most popular and meanest girl in school, has had her eye on him ever since the summer. And Raine doesn't like competition.
When Cam goes as far as inviting Natalia to the exclusive weekend party at Raine's house, Raine sets her sights on a new victim. But what Natalia doesn't know is that Raine and her friends are no ordinary mean girls. They have powers most people can only dream of, and nobody will stand in the way of what they want. And what Raine wants is Campbell.
Enticed is the sixth book in The Witches of Santa Anna series of novellas, a series that proves just how far true love will go and that nothing--not even pure evil--can change your destiny.
This series is still very confusing in a way where you have a slight idea of what is happening but not the full picture as I bring you Enticed - Book #6. In Enticed, Natalia is slowly learning about her capabilities with her white necklace which is similar to Raine's black butterfly necklace. Cam and Aiden seem to be still under Raine and Becca's spell as they prepare for the Homecoming dance and it seems that Brody knows more than he is letting on. I still am unsure of what Brody's part in everything is but it seems that Raine needs Cam and Aiden to be sacrificed for some greater good to prevent a war from happening and Natalia keeps putting spanners in their work as she is determined to save Cam from the evil clutches of Raine and her Triad of witches. Enticed, like the previous books in the series was a quick read novella and ended on a cliffhanger.
This is the 6th instalment of the Witches of Santa Anna series by Lauren Barnholdt, and I have to say by now I am starting to get a little annoyed. I have read and enjoyed the whole series so far, but really how much money must this women be raking in?! By splitting the story into small sections, releasing them a bit at a time and charging £2 odds for each one?! I mean fair play to her, it is clearly a very clever marketing tool, which is working...as I do seem to keep paying for the next instalment, and her other series as well! But as an avid reader or YA books I don't like feeling exploited. I will buy the 7th instalment when it is released, but if it is not the last, and the next one is the same price, I'm sorry but I will be staying clear of this author in the future.
Enough of the rant, and onto the review...
This story picks up right where the previous one left us, and finally some truth has come out! The big secret is out, although it may be too late to save a certain Cam from Raine's clutches! Once again the reader is left on a cliff-hanger ending, hungry for the next instalment of this series.
I believe there are at least 18. I have #1-#13, so I'll probably stop there. The author is just draaaaaaaaaaaaagging this out for too long. I'm losing interest!!!!!
So, we know Raine is a witch and that she is symbolized by black butterflies. Natalia has some kind of "good" power, even though it doesn't seem to differ vastly from Raine's, and she's symbolized by white butterflies.
What did we learn in enticed?
- Raine is still controlling everyone's minds - Raine stole back her creepy necklace - Raine has some evil "necessary" plan for Cam that will hurt him but prevent some mysterious war - Brody knows more than he says and lies to Natalia a lot
It is getting very exciting now, but the last part came all of a sudden, no warning, and no explanation yet, so I looking forward to knowing what it is all about.if you do not like teen fantasy I def would not read it
This series of books are really short answer didn't do much for me.... They didn't make much since and they kind of made me bored through out the series
this book was so bad i am finally think I got more important things to do than read this lame and really short novella. This kind of books are made for you to be robbed
