At the age of 21, still senior in college, I landed my first job as a marketing associate at Whitlock. I knew working for one of the major beverage companies in the US will be challenging, especially when I have to prove to my coworkers my age doesn’t mean I’m any less professional than they are. What I didn’t know, though, is that my greatest test wouldn’t be any of my tasks—it would be a man. Hudson Kent. The older, formidable, driven and frighteningly handsome CFO of the company. For some reason, out of everyone in the marketing department, he wants to work with no one but me. Some days I think he wants more than to talk business, though he never does. I can’t stop thinking about him, in the office and at night in my room, wishing for him to say something, anything. Wishing for him to see me as more than a young girl or his coworker. I’m ready for him. The remaining question is, is he ready for me?
Little Beginning is a steamy, angsty, and spicy romantic erotica novella that starts before Avery and Hudson became Blue and Sir. It tells the story of how they first met and their years of pining for each other in the office and should be read before Little Blue.
This is a prequel to "little Blue" now if you want you can read this first then the rest of the books from this couple or you can read little blue first it's really up to you.
This one we see our babies before Hudson makes a move on Avery, we see them in the beginning how the Pinning and sexual tension was at work. Nothing really happened between them beside Pinning and fantasies in there mind. Which was cute I loved how far they came since then.
No ow/om drama, no cheating, sexy times, no virgins
This is the prequel to Little Blue and a great addition to the series. It offers a great background on how things started out with Avery and Hudson, how they worked together, secretly drawn to each other but keeping their feelings hidden because they were colleagues. I loved how they not only felt this crazy, intense attraction, but also respect and admiration between them. This prequel offers a lot of insight into the protagonists' minds and gives the readers a better understanding of why these two people are so perfect for each other. If you're new to this series, i highly recommend starting with Little Beginning before reading Little Blue.
Eva took us back to the beginning, back to before Avery was Little Blue & Hudson was Sir for the end of the story for these two (so far? Completely?)
Avery is making a name for herself in her profession, shes hardworking and determined. The big boss of the company she works for is Mr Kent. When he sets eyes on her its like he sees colour for the first time 🤍 (I am so obsessed with this man!! Hes a masterpiece.) He is powerful and confident. Avery is hypnotised by him. Neither act on this attraction straight away though. They both share the drive to succeed and make quite the power ‘couple’ in the company.
“Dont thank me, Little Blue. Work hard. Thats all im asking.” “What did you call me?” “Your eyes and your age.”
I have loved this series of novellas so much, I dont want them to end (Eva, thank you for these two. I wasnt joking when I said you may need to write little updates so I can get my fill 😂) like the others the spice in this is 🥵 The temptation. The lust. The desire. The chemistry. The frustration 🤤
“Think you’re ready to be mine?” “Yes”
Reading order (as released) 💙 Little Blue 🧡 Little Halloween 💝 Little Valentine 🤍 Little Beginning
Hudson & Averys full story follows them going from colleagues to having a dom/sub relationship. The trust and passion they share is beautiful. If you enjoy the praise kink, bdsm, age gap and spicy AF I highly recommend picking one of these up and.. Theyre all novellas!
My actual rating is 4.5. This book is the prequal of Little Blue and Sir before they became Little Blue and Sir. I enjoyed this book and seeing how much they were drawn to each other from the start. And them pinning for each other throughout the years....just amazing. As always Eva has done an amazing job helping us love Hudson and Avery more than we already did. And to see their story begin and watch their inner struggles.....JUST AMAZING!!!!!
I am excited to see what Eva has planned for us in the future.
An amazing prequel for a great series. Eva never fails to deliver a good story and this was no exception.
Hudson and Avery are a hot, sexy pair and I highly recommend Blue series.
In each book you get more kinks and fun stuff and their love for each other is just…toes curling, stomach clenching, panties melting. You get the point.
I'm so sad to see Avery and Hudson's story come to an end but what a way to end it!! Little Beginning was the cherry on top!!
This Beginning has all the angst of Hudson and Avery working along side each other and for each other without crossing the line in fear of what others in their company may think. Their respect for each other started so quickly and just gets stronger as time goes on as well as their attraction.
Love happens when you least expect it and that's the truth for Hudson especially after his last relationship didn't end so well. Now he fears his intense desire and need for this young and innocent woman with these piercing blue eyes that are chasing him even in his dreams. Throughout this series you see how Avery is so submissive to her Sir but we never really knew why but after reading this Little Beginning it all makes so must more sense to me. It's this all consuming attraction Avery has for Hudson from day one that compells her to seek his approval on all things. She wants him to be proud of her, she needs it.
I absolutely loved this story of Sir and his Little Blue and for me personally, I needed this Beginning to better understand these characters and that's exactly what I got!
“Mr. Kent’s strength seeps from his pores into my soul, warming me from the inside out. I’m hypnotized by him, swiftly transforming into a lost puppy, eager for her owner to tell her what to do.”
Little Beginning is a prequel novella to the Little Blue Series and takes us all the way back to when Hudson and Avery first met. This was such a quick sweet and spicy read filled with all the pining and angst. It was absolutely amazing to once again see a different side of these characters I’ve come to love!
“Avery Myers and her blue eyes put a spell on me, plain and simple.”
“I’d do anything for him to yank up the skirt of my dress, tear my panties in half and spank me, and marking my flesh with his palm. To be rough and tender. To claim me as his, to call me his good girl.”
“Hudson Kent is the definition of irresistible. His praising gaze, those wise, fiery, and penetrating green eyes studying me as they have before.”
“I’m desperate for one thing and one thing alone—to get him to like me, to have him approve of and appreciate me.”
“Dirty little slut,” I’d growl. “Wearing garters and a thong to the office? Is this an open invitation, Miss Myers, or are these just for me?”
I had no idea how much I needed this story until I read it. The prequel to Little Blue, Little Beginning gives us a glimpse into Avery’s years working at Whitlock with Hudson. From the moment they meet, the chemistry and tension between them is insane. I felt every desire. Every skipped heart beat. Every moment of wanting and pain. Their hidden feelings leaving them both believing the other doesn’t reciprocate. It was beautiful and heartbreaking all at the same time. There may not have been as much spice as the other books in the series but what we got was PLENTY. It perfectly portrayed how frustrated both Avery and Hudson were and how deep their feelings went before they were ever together. This book is such an eye opener and honestly made me want to re-read Little Blue instantly. I needed to read about them together ASAP because that ending left me in tears. Eva’s writing just gets better and better and I honestly cant recommend this enough!
A week after starting her new job at Whitlock Beverages Avery meets Mr. Hudson Kent. The CFO of the company. He not only sees her passion for the company but her willingness to improve her skills. He can't help himself and makes time for just the two of them whenever he can but not make it obvious to others. He's smitten with her. What now?
I find it adorable how she submits right away without even trying. It's natural instinct to her with him. His nickname for her will forever be the most beautiful thing ever. The reason behind its cute too. I enjoyed how he pushes her to expand her knowledge and opens her mind to study other departments in the company. She's truly one of a kind not only to the company but to him. Their encounters are full of tension and longing. Such a great beginning to the series.
This is the prequel to Little Blue and a great way to start the Little series. This prequel is the background to Avery & Hudson and how they started. I suggest reading this before reading Little Blue.
This is book is a short, quick, very enjoyable read! We get to meet Avery, the new employee at Whitlock who is determined to make a name for herself, along with Hudson.. or Mr. Kent. He’s the charming, sexy boss. This a dual POV story and it was great reading about their budding fascination with each other from each side.
While there’s no actual *physical* spice, there is the “fantasies” they have of one another along with some solo action and boy IS IT HOT!!
Can’t wait to read Little Blue and delve into the heat that is Avery & Hudson!!! 5 stars!
I received this as an ARC and this is my honest review/ opinion!
I adore Hudson and Avery, Little Blue is my FAVE book!! I had high hopes for Little Beginning and was left a bit disappointed. But that is my OWN fault. I think that you should read this book BEFORE you read little blue. Since I’ve already been immersed in Hudson and Avery’s story I found this one boring because I already knew what was going to happen. If I would have read this first then it would have been perfect since it gives a background on the characters! That aside I did enjoy the writing style and learning more about Hudson’s obsession with Avery when they worked together. They are still my faves hands down!
I am so beyond to dig into Eva's backlist that I so clearly have been missing! If you've been around for any length of time, you know I absolutely adore Eva and her books! So I knew it was time to dig into this series!
This novella gives us a quick little glimpse into Mr. Kent and Avery. For being co-workers, neither want to mess that relationship up, more so because he is the CFO. But there are sparks flying between the two of them, and the tension is high.
I was on the edge of my seat the entire time waiting for that moment to happen.... 🫣
Buuuuut boy, do the two of them have very vivid imaginations when it comes to thinking about what the other would be doing to them! 🥵
And with all this build-up, I'm off to diving head first into Little Blue.
This book took a few days to read only because I didn’t want it to end. I have loved Hudson and Avery’s story from the beginning. And this book is no different. I love knowing what happened before they became Sir and Little Blue. I love that they both had an attraction to each other but Hudson never wanted to act on it because he cared too much about Avery’s future and what the business would think of her. This made me love Hudson even more and I didn’t think that was possible. The plot is great and so is the spice. A must read if you’ve read Little Blue, Little Halloween and Little Valentine. Thank you Eva for once again giving me the opportunity to ARC read for you. 💙 I love the kinky HEA novellas💙 Age Gap Praise Office pining Private pleasuring
Eva did it again, i can't say it enough. I loved little blue, little halloween and little valentine and with this one we get to see where and how it all started. I'm so invested in their story, from start to finish, it was amazing. It's short and sweet and yes a little bit SPICY. The slow burn is burning because as we know from little blue this book is about the beginning stage in their 'not even' relationship. This book is where they first meet, how they get to work together, we get the pining, the thoughts and the 'selfcare', if you know what i mean. :D
Little Beginning is the 0.5 in the Little Blue series by Eva Marks. Typically, I like reading series in chronological order. But reading this last some how made the sexual tension that much sweeter. I loved seeing them barely making it through the day without clawing each others clothes off. Oddly enough, this prelude is the perfect ending for Hudson and Avery's story.
I have been looking forward to knowing the beginning of Avery and Hudson story. I wanted to know them before Little Blue and Little Halloween.
Hudson is CFO and enamored by the new hire Avery, but refused to act on his desires. Avery wants Hudson to take her and make her his in anyway he wants, but he refuses. It's a game of cat and mouse with HAWT daydreams and sleep time dreams with fantasies that will make your toes curl. The book takes you from when Avery first started to the point when the text that started them on the path in Little Blue.
My heart loved Avery & Hudson in Little Valentine, so when I had the opportunity to read how it all started between them, I jumped. We all know Avery is a natural submissive when it comes Mr. Kent. I was obsessed with these dreams/fantasies they were having about each other. My heart did break towards the end & I just wanted Hudson to just admit everything he felt. She deserved so much in the job, but wasn’t given the opportunity by her boss Stan & that takes a toll on anyone. Completed this book in one sitting & absolutely loved it! Everyone needs to read this & Little Valentine!
This is the beginning of Hudson and Avery's story. This is how they met and fell in love with each other from afar. This is how Avery became the one who got away and - how later in Little Blue - became the one of her knees and a good girl💀🤭
Little Beginning had the perfect amount of angst for the beginning of their love story. It's the little moments they shared as they worked together that brought them to where they are. It truly was the perfect beginning.

So, this had a lot of daydreaming and not any actual person to person contact. The two MC in this book both like each other but refuse to make a move because they work together. Which is understandable. This was enjoyable to read, however the entire time I was wanting to scream at the characters, "just do it already!!". Seriously... Eva... Way to edge all of us readers! I can't wait for the next part of this book, because I just need to see that they actually end up together for my own personal sanity.

Thank You so much Eva for letting me ARC this book. I love seeing where Avery and Hudson meet and relationship started. I think it was so great how Eva wrote the pull between Avery and Hudson. I like how great Avery tries so hard to hold her head high as if she is not nerves around hudson. I really like the spice for it been a daydream it was well written and was so good. Eva did an amazing job on the cliff hanger so that it would remind you of how little blue started. I was ready to read little blue again because of it.

This is the beginning of it all. I have loved the other books in this series but I needed to know how it start and this is exactly that. Hudson and his dirty mouth were perfect. That man can touch me anytime. Avery that girl had spark and I loved it. The chemistry in the office was intense and the thought was wild. I loved this couple. Each story brought something out but this one was my favorite.
I started off sad, because even though this is the little beginning, it felt like a lot of an end, instead. I was distraught because their romance is so good. Eva Marks writes incredible tales, but the saddest of it all is their length.
What should be more than 100 pages never is and man does that ache you in the inside, give it a good stretch and try to return your heart to new.
Being late to the world of Little Blue and Hudson meant I could start with the prequel and I'm so glad I did. I felt I was more invested in the characters and relationship by the time I started reading "Little Blue" which I couldn't wait to start.
I read this in one day, the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the story/characters didn't stay with me when I closed the book. For me 5 stars is saved for when I journey the emotional roller coaster with them.
Gorgeous prequel to Hudson and Avery’s journey! I loved the solo adventures angle to this novella. Super unique premise which I really adored. The angst and tension in this is next level! Gah! It was really nice to learn more about these characters and have this sneak peek into their intro. Super cute!
I never thought Id fall even more in love with Avery and Hudson ... but this beginnings book. Oh my god. I love all of their solo adventures that lead to that beautiful kismet we get. The tension is off the chart, as with anything dealing with those two ... OH THE SPICE. Def recommend this and the whole short series that follows these two love birds.
“It was the sort of attention I longed to receive from him in and outside the office. Every day and every minute, to let the butterfly in my stomach take flight and unravel what's behind his heart, find out whether the affection and attraction I have for him are mutual.”

If you’ve read the blue series from Eva Marks, this is the very beginning of Hudson and Avery. Avery has just been hired at the the company. Hudson catches wind of her and that’s when his obsession starts. That when she starts to fantasize about her boss.
I’ve loved this series right from the beginning and I’ve loved Hudson and Avery’s journey together. Just like every book in the series, this was fantastic. Unfortunately, even though this is the beginning it’s the end and I’m extremely sad. I wish this wasn’t ending but it ended on such a high note.
If you haven’t read the blue series read it. And if you’ve started it and haven’t finished it, please continue!!!
