Lola Eriksen and her horse, Hercules, were a dynamic and unstoppable duo that dominated racing news. That all changed after they took the Triple Crown and a near-fatal accident changed their worlds forever.
Since that fateful day, and after the death of her father, her life became simpler, and she never rode again. One night, as she’s about to fulfill her every fantasy with a new ranch hand, Carson, she is abruptly interrupted by her father’s most trusted employee, Nash. Nash lures her away from Carson and exposes the world she never knew her father had built around her.
As she learns the truth about her world, she also learns that the accident was not what it seemed, prompting her to ask herself if she’s ready to take on the family business, and at what cost.
Can Lola be the heiress she was meant to be, and life to take her rightful place on top—or will being the head of the operation prove she’s not ready for the danger?
This book launches right into the spice, and a compelling story, and doesn't let up. The characters are ones you care about, especially Lola, and the steamy scenes are so well written, it's like reading poetry. Triple Crown Kingpin is a mafia-based RH romance, but the mafia presence is different from the usual. Such a fun book!
This is my first read by Yvonne Avery, I wanted to try a cowboy themed read, and so got that, I liked the plot, it was a little slow to start but it did all come together nicely. I wasn't expecting everything that happened so good it definitely wasn't predictable. Easy read with an element of dark. I will be reading the next book as I need to know what happens.
It just jumps into some storyline I don't understand. Then we're supposed to assume something big happened because she looks out the window at two people fighting. Didn't get very far because I didn't want to wade through the mess. Not even for the spice.
This is a western mafia romance book. Lots of smut in it. The dual pov is very useful in understanding the first “villain” you meet. Was out of my typical genre but would definitely read the sequel to see how everything played out.
