On March 24, 1980, Clean Harbors Environmental Services was born. Four employees, a used truck, and a wealth of determination and sweat equity have served as the foundation for what has become an amazing business success story.
With revenues of $5 billion, the Company today is North America's leading provider of environmental and industrial services. Clean Harbors serves a diverse customer base, including a majority of Fortune 500 companies.
Filled with honest, straight talk on the trials and tribulations of developing, managing, and growing a phenomenally successful business, Doing the Doing chronicles the professional, personal, and often humbling experiences of its CEO, Alan McKim. The book also serves as a thank you to the tens of thousands of employees, who through their talent and dedication, helped make Clean Harbors what it is today.
Excellent book that brings the reader through the journey of starting up a business that has grown through several decades under the leadership and direction of Alan McKim and several other team members. I especially enjoyed the author's transparency and honesty; a must read for anyone looking to lead or manage. The philanthropic aspect of his work was especially enjoyable to read. His business is an avenue for success in many areas thanks to the way he sees his company functioning amidst a complex and ever changing world.
This book is "doing the doing". It is a pretty good read that has a lot of great information about how to run your business successfully. Lots of insightful tips and tricks within. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
