Rory Reynolds is a stay-at-home mom of two little monsters. She's a ravenous reader of romance and firmly believes that you can never have too many book boyfriends.
She writes feisty heroines, alpha heroes, and panty drenching smut with happily ever afters.
I love when Rory brings us back to this series!!! This one is alittle different from the others. Single parent and some angst on losing someone's partner.
Addy lost herself for bit because she was mourning the lost of her husband, but her falling into depression made her not focus on her son which she had to change. And she did even if she got into fights with her mom, moving to another state she's making sure her and her lil boy Henry are good. Its been 3 years she needs to start living again she also signed up at the Playground to easy back into the Daddy/little sub. Making a quick connection with Axel a bartender who is already smitten with Addy.
There are rules Addy told Axel nothing serious what they did wad fun and nothing else. But the more they spent together the more both fell but Addy does push Axel away due to her being a mom and still dealing with grief.
Low angst, no ow/om drama, no cheating, slight secondary character, sexy times, no virgins

I loved Axel and Addy’s story. It was raw and real. Addy is trying to move on with life while grieving and raising her son. She gets ghosted but meets Axel instead, the chemistry between them is instant, which is a bit of a shock to them both. They spend some time together but agree it’s nothing more than causal..but Axel wants more. Addy is fighting the battle of feeling guilty for so many things she shouldn’t and Axel is SO wonderful with her. This is another favorite of the series for me.
Keeping His Babygirl, Book 6 of The Playground series, was about Axel Walker, a bartender at The Playground club, and Addy Perkins. After Addy's husband died due to a drunk driver, she all but lost her way. Her mother started taking on the role of mothering Addy's baby (that was born the day her husband died). Three years into that situation, Addy started to wake up and realize that her son turned to his grandmother more than to his own mom for his needs. With that eye-opening experience, she decided it was time to move away from her parents so she could focus on rebuiding the bond between her and her child. Addy moved to the town where The Playground was and immediately signed up for a membership. Two months later she had arranged to meet a man there whom she had started talking to on a dating site. However, the man ghosted her. As she was comig to the ralization that she'd been stood up, Axel introduced himself and their "casual" friendship began. Except, Axel got attached too fast, much to Addy's dismay. After two encounters with him, she then ghosted him because she felt like he was getting too serious...something she didn't want to do. A week after being ghosted, Axel was at the grocery store when a little boy fell at his feet. It was then he found out Addy had a child. Side Note: I hate it when authors write stories with small children and don't get the age-appropriate speech down right. Most 3-year-old toddlers do not have the ability to speak the way a five or six-year-old does. And yet, this author gave Addy's son the ability to speak almost like an adult. It was very disappointing. While there was plenty of angst, drama, and spice, the book was not as good as the five that came before it. There were a lot of grammatical errors that detracted from the story, but the biggest disappointment was all of the unresolved issues as well as the lack of comeuppance with certain characters. The FMC's issues with her mother, for example, were resolved to quickly to be real. The woman had been horrible each time she put in an appearance, and yet the author had her do an about face with little to no problem. That was such a letdown. I only gave this story a three-star rating because it just didn't earn anything higher.
This is the sixth book set in The Playground kink club; I haven't read the others, but followed this well enough since the MC meets for the first time here. Bartender Axel falls for new member Addy. He doesn't do relationships; she's a widow unsure she can move on. They agree to keep things casual...or so they try.
I liked this book because it has all the things I prefer: two people who act, think, and talk like adults; consent; a fairly realistic storyline; and likable, believable characters. While Addy's past won't be to all tastes (I know many readers like their MC to be each other's one and only), I thought the author handled her situation sensitively, though it's odd that no one mentioned counseling.
I do have some caveats: although Addy is well-rounded, we never get to know Axel. I can't tell you a thing about him at all (perhaps previous books covered this). In addition, even for this genre, his insta-love is unbelievable: it occurs faster than the speed of light. In fact, Axel is a little too perfect: Addy really could have handled things better and I don't think most people would be this forgiving.
3 1/2 stars. It's sweet; Axel is a perfect book boyfriend; and there's an epilogue. It will definitely pass the time. Note: The title is misleading since this is really Daddy Kink. Those looking for DD/lg or Age Play will not find it here.
This is my first time reading a book by Rory and I totally loved it! Addy is a widowed single mom new in town. Axel is a bartender at The Playground club. He sees Addy who is there for a date but has been stood up. That's how their relationship starts. Addy tries to move on but feels guilt for dating someone other than her husband (I thought she would be more hesitant in calling Axel Daddy. I would have loved to read some angst about that) so she breaks things off. They run into each other at the store and that's when Axel finds out that Addy is a single mom. He invites them to go get ice cream and Addy agrees, so they start their relationship up again. I love that Axel accepts Henry right away and begins to love him. The way the relationship develops between Addy and Axel is believable and real. I love the important question Axel asks Henry!! 🥰 I can't wait to read more from this author!
I am leaving my honest review for a complimentary copy of this book via the author.
I loved this story by Rory Reynolds. I didn't want it to end. I loved seeing how Addy got a second chance at love. She lost her husband on the day of their child's birthday due to a drunk driver. She has moved to another state to start over with her son. She meets Axel when she goes to The Playground to be an online date. Axel works as a bartender at The Playground. He is enthralled by her. He wants more than she thinks she can give. Will he be able to convince her to take a chance on them? Will she get a second chance at love?
I received an ARC from the author for an honest review.
"In this moment, we are perfection." This quote from the book is pretty close to how I feel about this book. My emotions were on a roller coaster while I voraciously read it. Axel is just awesome. So loving and kind. Addy has suffered horrible heartbreak and desperately needs Axel. The only thing I might change..and it's only a might...is I would have enjoyed a little more DDlg components. Overall I really enjoyed Keeping His Babygirl. 5 🌟
I loved how honest and genuine this book was. Sure, it was steamy, cute and swoon worthy, but what really got me was the emotion. That was what made this story so easy to relate to and to care for. Axel was an amazing book boyfriend and my heart just ached for Addy. This book will definitely have you feeling all the feels and a wide array of emotions.
Axel, the perfect Daddy, he sees Addy and he knows instantly that she is his baby girl. Addy, the broken woman, grieving and scared. She pushes him away so many times, and yet Axel knows his baby girl, and he would never let her go. I love all of Rory Reynolds books, and this is a perfect addition to the Playground series.
This being a second chance romance made this hard for me. I lost my husband a year and four months ago, so I was sobbing by page 7. I could understand Addy's fear. I was cheering her on to be brave. So I started this book with heartbroken tears and ended with happy tears.
ahhhhhh this trope is one of my favs: SINGLE MOM! I loved Addy and Henry!! Henry is the sweetest best boy ever - his obsession w trains is how my obsession with books is 100%! I was also very glad to finally read Axel’s story. I DO wish we could have seen more of the friendships outta of the core group (Tessa and Ransom more so)
Addy is coming out of her fog of grief. She lost her husband and gained a son. The story is about the troubles and joys of her life. A really good story with believable characters.
Sooooo happy that Addy gets her HEA!!!! A sweet insta love story with Axel never expecting a forever with his new babygirl. It wasn’t an easy path but his perseverance seals the deal. Love this story!!!!
Axel & Addy story had a unique spin addy being a widow. I thought the writing was superb. I’m glad they found their way regarding their feelings with one another. Their story required a lot of growth on both their parts.
This book was so good. It has a lot of emotion in it. Had tears in my eyes a couple times. Hit close to home for me. Lovely book. Loved axel and Abby and Henry. Perfect little family!!
Addy is super relatable and lovable. I loved Axel and her relationship! So sweet and perfect. The entire book was emotion provoking but in such a good way.
