Seen in Silverbridge #1

A Rockstar Has Exploded

Rate this book
This book was previously published under the title You Heard It Here First. It has been retitled and redesigned for this new edition.

A ROCKSTAR HAS EXPLODED!

And Luce and Huds got it on camera.

Seen in Silverbridge is supposed to be a uni gossip mag—scandal, snark, social media clout. Luce and Huds are not real journalists. They absolutely did not mean to photograph rock band Ripe for Picking's frontman Gustaf Neilsen in the precise moment he went up in flames.

But they did. And now their little rag is headline news.

The cops want a statement. The internet wants a villain. And someone—possibly the killer—wants them to stop asking questions.

To survive the story, Luce and Huds pull in their long-suffering intern Faven and Rodney, a disgraced old-school reporter who until very recently worked for the enemy. Together, the Seen in Silverbridge crew are about to discover that celebrity gossip has teeth — and that the truth behind Gustaf's death goes a lot deeper than one very bad night on stage.

Packed with secrets, betrayals, a found family you'll want to join, and a killer you genuinely won't see coming.

Perfect for fans of Holly Jackson, Jennifer Lynn Barnes,_ and _Only Murders in the Building.

A ROCKSTAR HAS EXPLODED is Book 1 of the Seen in Silverbridge series.

So much fun! A proper page turner, with intrigue, mystery, a will-they-won’t-they, an underdog, plenty of drama and the sense of willing the characters on. Flew through it 😊

You heard it from me💀

This was great I loved how she made the book more realistic on how social media works. This book also had very great characters I loved Luce and Huds. Could we get more thanks friends relationship from them.... I could feel the tension or maybe I'm just Delisonal. Also she showed how people actions can have very dire consequences towards other people.
Overall, I can't wait wait for the other book going to follow this author too. 😂😂💀

I cannot wait to read more about Luce, Hudson, Faven and "Roddles" I'm loving the characters, they have such big personalities and they compliment each other so well!

I feel Faven and Rodney are the hidden gems in this series! They come into it later on and add so much. I hope they come more into themselves in the other books in the series and I will look out for them to read soon.

A death on a hotel complex, a band on tour who have secrets to hide, a group of friends with a mission to fill the pages of Seen in Silverbridge, their publication with juicy secrets and saucy scoops from the world around them.

I love how this story progresses, you want to help them solve the mystery of the Hotel and what happened there. I also liked the social media aspect of this book.

This was really enjoyable to read, it was engaging and kept you guessing until the end.

A fantastic, multi-layered young adult mystery that unravels to have you flipping the pages with quickening pace. Along the way, the novel does what a great story should - uses a captivating plot to make informed nuanced comments on society, sexuality, and human nature (especially in the realm of social poisonous social media culture).
I am certainly looking forward the following novels.

Because a great read like this is transcendent in its target readership, I highly recommend this to both young adults and adults alike.

A wild and fun ride with characters so relatable I felt like I could've been right there along with them on their adventures. Loved the small elements of Kiwi and Pacific culture laced throughout. Thoroughly enjoyed and looking forward to the next instalment.

Emerson Black. Taylor Jenkins Reid but with a few more action sequences and hailing from Te Awamutu? A winning combo.

I rated this book a 3.5 stars as I have mixed feelings about it. While the story was captivating and intriguing, it lacked in realism. There is no way the group would have pulled it off without being arrested many times.

What started as a wrong place wrong time or somehow right place right time, took a turn for the worse.

I did enjoy Luce personal growth through the story. She was seriously getting iny my nerves at the beginning but I'm glad we saw her getting more self aware and cautious of other people's feelings. Her character arc sure counted in the redeeming of the unrealistic side of the story.

I'm a big fan of cosy mysteries of all kinds and I was really excited to read the first book in the Seen in Silverbridge series after reading A Fiancé has Flatlined. This book definitely didn't disappoint and it was a great start to the series. The characters were well introduced, the plot was fun but realistic and it had a great twist at the end that I didn't expect. I've recommended the series before but I've told even more people now I know how it started.

I thought this story was excellent! The friendship between Luce and Huds is very believable, and the efforts of the Seen in Silverbridge staff to solve the murder of a Swedish rock star are both comical and endearing. From breaking into hotel rooms to following up on tips from the esteemed Rodney Holliday, readers will be delighted by their search to determine the truth. I think the social media and text angle of the story is unique, and I'd definitely recommend it!

I really loved the characters in this book! At the beginning, I wasn’t the biggest fan of Luce, but she really grew on me as the story went on. I ended up becoming so invested in all of them and their relationships. And that ending!! I absolutely loved seeing them all together. It was such a good way to wrap everything up, and it left me feeling really happy. Definitely a fun read, and I’m glad I picked it up! ❤️

I am a fan of the authors other cinematic work, so thought I would give this book a try.
Emerson Black writes great characters. (without giving too much away) this was not the genre of read I thought I'd get into, but I found it compelling, exciting and I can't wait to see where the next book goes!

I ripped through this book - such a fun, effortless read that left me feeling relieved it’s the first in a series. Fun to read a young adult fiction set in a quasi-New Zealand city with familiar characters and just a hint of sex, drugs, and rock’n’roll.

Whoa, did not expect this to be so good, especially being the writers first book?!
A super fun read not just for young adults, it felt like watching a series… It has major potential to turn into one!
