They survived the apocalypse, they survived the aftermath, but can Lillie survive being captured by the Infected?
Ian’s heart is ripped to shreds as Lille’s screams echoed into the hills. The Infected dragged her off into the darkness, streaks of blood the only remnants of her trail. Ian will stop at nothing to find her, even if it means losing his sanity during a brutal winter on the mountain. But when her trail is covered with snow and her screams abruptly silenced, Ian wonders if there will be anything left to find.
Lillie awakes in the company of the Infected. She’s being imprisoned in their confines, an unpredictable situation at best. Unsure of why she’s being kept alive, only an unlikely alliance and her premonitions give her the strength and hope to survive.
The Infected have evolved, regenerating forgotten traits, but the constant instability in their pecking order leaves Lillie vulnerable to their impulsive bursts of outrage. It’s only a matter of time before Lillie falls victim to their bloodthirst unless she escapes. She only has her visions to rely on, and they begin to lead her down a confusing path with an unthinkable outcome.
With the Infected growing stronger and wiser, will Lillie ever have a chance at escape? Can Ian puzzle the pieces together before it’s too late?

This is the third book in the Flash series and I was so excited to sit down and start this one . I have loved the other books in the series . So when I dove into this one I was taken back to after the flash . Lillie is taken by the infected leaving Ian their daughter and the rest of the survivors trying to find her . She was taken in the middle of a blinding snow storm in the blue mountains . She is held by the infected and finds out what life is like as a slave to the intelligent form of the infected . She also finds out a few other things while she was held captive. Ian is fighting tooth and nail to get to her . Will they find each other and will the infected be taken care of forever . The characters in this book have become very complex . I really love Lillie she is a fighter . She will do anything to get back to her family and does . I truly liked her and the poor girl gets put through the ringer by the author. Ian is tough but also broken , he is trying so hard to be there for everyone in their tribe but his heart is breaking on loosing Lillie . You see him go from broken to a hero by the end of the story . He is a really good guy . There are a new form infected in this book they are more intelligent and almost seem human . That is what Jeff is . He is the head of the infected group that took Lillie . He treats Lillie like she is his . Which is fun to read you see how she can tame him in a way . The author takes us on a roller coaster ride full of twists and turns . The way the author takes her characters and watches the grow naturally is a great feat . Most authors hurry the growth of the characters . This author lets them come together naturally . The story is fast paced and you will be on the edge of your seat all the way through this book . I like the concept of this book it isn't your normal zombie book . I actually wouldn't classify them as zombies . They are their own type of end of the earth creatures. I truly enjoyed this book and can't wait to see where the author takes her characters in the next book . So if you want a great series full of action and mystery with a touch or romance .Yes peeps we can have romance at the end of the world . These are the books for you . So check them out and add a bit of zombie to your summer reading list
A good third part to this zombie end of the world series! I did enjoy this slightly different zombie story, intelligent zombies, scary idea! Lots of action, good pace, some angst but overall a good fun read with romance undertones.
I love this series. From the start of this book until the end I couldn't put it down.
It starts off where book 2 left us when Lillie is taken. The Zombies have evolved and some are highly intelligent and they just keep on learning. this book will have you on the edge of your seat. wondering how it going play out. if you like Zombie books give this one a try it is not like your normal Zombie book. The characters are great and you can easily connect with them. love the writing style. this series is so good.
Normally I'm a stickler for reading books in order. I know I read the first book and enjoyed it. Not sure why its not marked as read on here. Anyway, bottom line is, you don't HAVE to read the other two to enjoy this book. Who doesn't love an amazing series though! (I plan on starting book one as soon as I'm done here.) Edge of your seat action from page one, you are thrust into a new world. I absolutely adore the tough as nails heroine, Lillie and her adorable daughter Azami. (They are so well written its like I'm seeing them in front of me while writing about them.) As if things aren't hard enough after The Flash turned most of humanity into flesh eating monsters, they are showing signs of learning, of evolving...
Some series I've read go down hill as each book comes out but not this series, it just keeps getting better and better. One of the biggest complements I can give is being mad because a series ends and boy am I mad!!! I stayed up well past my bedtime to finish this book, I couldn't put it down , I just had to see what would happen next. I have a book hangover.
As you already know from book 2, and if you haven't read books 1 and 2 stop right here and read them, Jeff has taken Lillie captive and the infected are evolving, hence the name of book 3. He's had a fixation with Lillie since she came to the caves, he wants her for his own. The story follows the hunt for her and her life as Jeff's captive. Lots of action and twists and turns, and some serious OMG moments. Definitely a series that anyone who like apocalyptic novels will enjoy. I know I sure did and I really hope there's more to come. I especially enjoy a book where you start to care about the characters and get involved in the story line, I was drug in and didn't want leave and the story to end, of course I wanted them to find Lillie but I hope Ms. Gomez will give us more of a look into this amazing world, please, please, please. I wish I could rate it higher than 5 it definitely deserves at least a 10.
I’m devouring this series in a matter of hours. Here it is almost 2am and I’m trying to convince myself to go to bed and not to start book 4. I know I won’t be able to start it because I’ll have to finish it. This series is action packed and keeps you wanting more. Lillie getting kidnapped by Jeff and then his behavior towards hers later made you confused as crap. I didn’t feel sorry for him per se, but I did hope his humanity would come back and he would let Lillie go. How the infected evolved was scary as crap. When Jeff bit Lillie I almost had a heart attack thinking along the lines of all zombie books she was now infected. All along I had feeling Asher was hopefully Naveen’s husband and so glad it was confirmed. I’m going to be on pins and needles until we found out if Mason and Asher both return safely. I knew Abbey was turning she was so hostile for no reason, and I hated again how Lillie did not catch this. I hope in the future if more people close to them turn they smarten up and catch on faster. Not going to lie I was little worried with how much fish Lillie was eating and being pregnant …

Waited a long time for this 3rd book and it was well done except one thing it did not let me know if Mason returned and the fate of Asther and that was a bit disappointing since Asther was a major character in this book. I felt like the author got in a rush at the end and forgot to tie up the last storyline which was a bit disappointing because Asther was a big reason Lillie survived and leaving reader not knowing his fate or Mason's left a big hole at the end. Until that point it was a five star read. It was also a bit irritating to see Lillie get a bit attached to Jeff as well. Overall a good read.
I love, love, love this series. Where else can you get zombies, smart zombies, people that are living as a family, tears, and laughter?! In Jessica Gomez’s books, that’s where! I so love Ian, Lillie, Azami, James, Asher, and all the rest of characters. I even ended up liking Jeff. Great job Jessica, now get going on book 4 already!
I enjoyed this book. This book was exactly what I want in a novel. It has great characters. Scenes that swiftly moving great into the next. I am glad we did get see from one another perspective. The storyline was great. Scary, romantic, and kept you guessing. All the things I enjoyed.
All three books kept me reading well past my bedtime. I loved the characters and got involved in the story line. Not your typical zombies but still a neck of a read.
Again a great read. The beginning and ending are so good. There wasn’t to much going on for a while in the middle. It pulled me away for a little while but then as the premonitions became more active I was able to jump back in. I’m looking forward to the next book.
After getting through the first three books, I must say I like the story, characters and romance. I hope the author goes back and has someone do edits and some refining. It would make the books that much better.
I love this author more with each book I read. This one was really good. I laughed, I cried and sometimes I just felt good. She has a way of making you feel what her characters are feeling. I highly recommend this series.
Finally! It felt like forever to get to the end of this part of the story! I liked it but it dragged on a little! I can’t wait to find out what happens next!
Evolved is the third book in The Flash Series (The Infected Series). It is an excellent read carrying on the story from the first two books.
It is a book full of action and unexpected events. Lillie is captured by the infected and taken to a remote cave by Jeff and his infected followers. She is surprised to find more intelligent infected at the cave. Each has a human slave. Jeff has claimed Lillie as his own and will not tolerate any other person, human or infected, touching her.
She discovers that there are two types of infected now - the normal infected who will kill and eat a person and the ones who have evolved into more intelligent infected who seem able to learn from humans. The infected can silently communicate between each other.
She plots to escape but it is winter and snow covers the ground, so it would be dangerous and impossible to get away safely. Anyway, she is chained to a boulder by her ankle.
The human chained next to her discovers a secret about Lillie that she did not perceive, but Jeff did.
