Acton and Floss meet in the flower shop where she works and they both seem to hit it off but he is determined not to be in a serious relationship but asks Floss to be his plus one for special events that he must attend and she agrees but then he does some romantic things that makes her think something else. And when she attends one of his Ranger events he seems to ignore he presences. There is a serious issue going on with drugs in the area so as a ranger Acton is focused on that. Floss decides she has had enough but Acton apologizes and invites her out again. A love at first sight but want to fight it romance suspense. It takes a dangerous situation to get him to admit the truth. A very entertaining story line, and great characters. I was read a copy via BookFunnel without obligation. I volunteered an honest review.

This was absolutely terrible and I’m sad I had made myself read this through. I cannot believe this was published it’s as if a group of middle school kids wrote this book and never got it edited. I have no idea what the plot is at all even after finishing it and found multiple spelling errors. I do not recommend it’s a waste of time.

Andy Mathews had been farm boy, Acton Cunningham's, hero at college, he was the boy that everyone wanted to emulate. Andy had joined the police force and Acton followed, Andy went on to join the Texas Rangers Special Unit, Acton was now their newest recruit.
Floss Buchannan worked at the florist shop owned by Andy's wife, Ella, sparks flew between Floss and Acton as soon as they met but Acton was focused, he wanted to shine in his new roll, he didn't have time for a woman in his life but perhaps a fake date would do the trick................this was not a good idea.
This story follows Floss and Acton's fake dates that didn't seem like fake dates, Acton continued to deny his feelings but would things change when Floss's life was in danger.
This is quite a short, but lovely, story, full of blossoming love and a fair amount of angst

This is a great first story to lead into the Wild Blooms series of nineteen books. Sofia is a great writer and her heartfelt story of a shy Texas Tanger and a florist is both sweet and spicy.
I’ll be looking for more books by this descriptive author.

I enjoyed this story about Acton and Floss. I was hoping that Acton and Floss became a couple. I wasn’t sure if it was going to happen. Floss has a great personality. Acton communicates well, but only when it has to do with work. It was an enjoyable short read.

So well written, fast paced, a book you really do not want to put down till the end. Acton and Floss have so many emotions between them. They are hot, steamy and just not able to really say what they mean. Loved all the action and romance between them. A great book to start this series, can't wait for the rest to come. Would recommend this book to others.

This is a short standalone fake relationship story.
Texas Ranger Acton asks Floss to be his fake date to work functions, but they are strangers having never met before until he walks into the shop and two minutes later he poses the question - and she accepts anyway. So this is what starts their fake relationship.
I'm lost as to why he even needed a date as it's not explained why a new Ranger would need to take a date to functions, when the other Rangers didn't take dates to the one function they did actually attend. The fake date part seemed a bit pointless to the story, or at least I think it could have been done differently, it just didn't seem to flow very well in the story.
I felt like I was missing a ton of information or conversations between the two of them, I don't feel like we get to know them very well at all. This might be why I struggled to like Acton, between his mixed messages with Floss and his insecurities at work, he was all over the place.
Floss seemed very likeable, but again I don't think we see enough to really get to know her. I definitely didn't see enough of these two together to see them falling in love, one minute they are flirty, and the next one is ghosting the other, then the next they are declaring their love.

Floss is the sweetest lady from her natural blond California sun-kissed looks to her love of plants she is perfect girlfriend material. New in town, Floss is working in her friend Ella's flower shop since Ella is very pregnant. The shop is next to the Texas Ranger headquarters so the guys stop in for flowers all the time. One of them is Acton Cunningham a new Ranger. He is out of his element in this new town. Acton is a great officer/ranger but is uncomfortable in this new town surrounded by people he doesn't know. He decides a "fake" girlfriend will help him fit in better so he asks Floss to help him, with no strings attached. There are some angsty moments between them but finally, Acton realizes what is right in front of him, love. Warning, sadly there are lots of typos. I received a free advanced copy of this story from Booksprout and am happy to share my opinion. Linda

Floss is a strong heroine, to put up with Acton. He wasn't so likable to me at first, but Floss was. She tried so hard to be what he needed her to be, without sacrificing herself too much. This story is short, sweet and steamy, which is Sofia Aves' trademark. I look forward to reading the stories of some of the characters introduced in this book. He's introduced in a roundabout way to Floss who works at his partners wife's florist. What starts out as fake dating in order to get his image sorted and his career goals achieved turns into denied insta love. It's quirky, funny and steamy with a hint of danger with the unsolved drug trafficking.

This is a sweet short romance. Acton is a new Texas Ranger and good at his job but awkward and scared when it comes to relationships. Floss is the beautiful, sweet, but unsure woman who works at the flower shop across from the Ranger office. These two are wary of each other, and bumble around one another trying to figure out their feelings but the tension between them is undeniable. This was a fun, sweet short romance with a little added suspense that the author is known for in her Ranger series.

I still had many questions at the end of this book. Such as: who was involved in the drug trade? Did they catch the rest of them? How did all the innocent people get drugged? What happened in Actons’ head that made him realize in such a short time that he loved her? Was Acton “fake dating” at all in the beginning or did he really want to ask her out? Why was there no talk about sex/birth control? What were their past relationships like? What were their extended families like? I could go with more questions.

I truly enjoyed reading about Acton and Floss! Actin is a new Texas Ranger trying to make a good impression. Part of that entails that he is stable and in a committed relationship. After just meeting Floss, he asks her to be his fake girlfriend for events. Reluctantly, she agrees.
I found this book to be humorous at times! The steam level was just right. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed reading this book and proceeded to finish it in one sitting. It moves along at a pace that makes for an easy and enjoyable read. It has characters that you want to know and you cannot help but love them and you want to be there for them. This is a must read book that needs to be on your TBR list, you will not be sorry that you did.

This is the hot little story of Floss. & Acton. Both having relocated to a town in Austin, Texas. She is a florist and he is a special unit Ranger. Meeting by chance. They agree to pretend to be a couple to relieve the social pressure. Acton doesn't treat her properly and she's in love. I recommend this well-written little one sit read, totally worth 😍

A sexy short story...
The main characters were quirky & interesting. The hero took a while to get his head on straight whilst he had no problems whatsoever in the area of seduction. She was no pushover & let him know how she expected to be treated. A florist but no wallflower, I liked her a lot. I received an arc & this is my honest & voluntary review.

This Floss and Acton are a conundrum. Things happen and a fake relationship is forgotten at times and the POV a shows what you missed. There is a case the Rangers are trying to solve whole orchids are admired and action is everywhere. No cliff.

too short
This was a mess of contractions and was way too short to make sense of anything. It ended with a note that it’s the first story of a series, but the description of the next book seems to be about events that happened before this book. I don’t know if I’m going to read anything else by this author.

What I liked about this story is that it has ingredients for several kinds of readers: fake relationship, funny moments, danger, and romance!

Acton was so insecure about dating in general that he asked Floss to be his fake girlfriend. She was wild and carefree and exactly what he needed to see that something real was so much better. Great story.
