May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you! Daniel 6:16 Bestselling author and Bible teacher, Steve Farrar, reminds us through the story of Daniel that true courage can be ours daily and it comes from the one true Sovereign God. Everyone can recall as a young child having the courage to head out the door—whether it was to your first day of school, your first game in little league, or your piano lesson. Then life takes over and you lose your bravado, giving in to the fears of the world around you. In True Courage readers will discover a God who provides incredible courage to us in the midst of uncertainty, even through treacherous, evil days, and the courage to face lions in their den—or an unexpected job loss, the diagnosis of a sick child, or the return of a debilitating cancer.

Wonderful insight into the book of Daniel and the lessons we can learn. This book reinforces the importance of living our faith and standing up for God in difficult times.
A book that reads like a tail from a fairy tail. But it’s about Daniel. A man who lived during a sad and vile period in Israel’s time. So we live in America Now. This is training for how we need to live today.
Many lessons can be learned from the life of Daniel. One of those lessons would be to trust God no matter our circumstances. Steve Farrar uses Daniel's life as an example in True Courage. In these uncertain times, it's easy to fear and forget that God is in control. But this book will remind us to keep our eyes not on what is seen... but on what is unseen.
Steve Farrar's explanation 'in a nutshell' says...
"Daniel displayed True Courage by: •Fearing God more than man •Trusting God with his future •Realizing God's governance over all events True Courage is the result of knowing God."
And true courage is what we desperately need today. Living in uncertain times, having the unexpected happen, worries about how we will care for our loved ones... this book is a great lesson on focusing on God and knowing that He is in control. Like Daniel, we need to trust God and keep living life.
I read Point Man by Steve Farrar years ago and loved it. So, when I was offered the chance to review True Courage I was very excited. He is a great writer and speaker and has so much Biblical wisdom to share, I know you won't be disappointed when you read this book. I highly recommend it.
*I received this book for free from The B&B Media Group for my honest review. ~Thanks! :)
Title: TRUE COURAGE Author: Steve Farrar Publisher: David C. Cook April 2011 ISBN: 978-1-4347-6873-5 Genre: Inspirational/nonfiction/Christian living
Discover God’s remedy for fear.
We all face fear. We’re afraid for our finances, for our jobs, for our children in this increasingly immoral culture, and we fear for our country as it shifts away from God’s principles. Sometimes it seems as though fear is constant.
But there is a truth that offers courage to every believer who finds it: God is in control. Even when things seem to be out of control, God has it under control.
Mr. Farrar uses the life of the prophet Daniel to illustrate a powerful profile in courage. Daniel was taken from his homeland, stripped of his name, and thrown into a godless culture. He faced a future with little hope. Yet, Daniel was able to live by faith—not by what was seen.
In TRUE COURAGE, Mr. Farrar draws from the timeless story of Daniel, a man who altered the course of a nation. And Mr. Farrar shows how we too can find the courage to rise above life’s circumstances all while trusting God who never abandons His children. If you are looking for courage in these uncertain times, then TRUE COURAGE is a book to consider. $14.99. 234 pages.
Rating 2.5 This book explores the book of Daniel and how Daniel had the courage to stand up for what he believed in and how god honored that courage. Book started out strong, with stories of Churchhill and I thought it had great potential. To me the book seemed to have lost a little steam by the middle.
"Things aren't out of control-they are under control. That's the concrete of True Courage." And that is a major concept that Farrar establishes for the Christian. God is in control. A great reminder in difficult times.
How do you face the changing times in relation to your faith in God? True Courage explores first six chapters of the Bible's book of Daniel. Author presents truths of Daniel's lifetime as practical ways to experience our faith in God in these everchanging times.
If you are facing "Lions" in your life and feel that your are loosing your courage to face those"Lions", this book is for you. Especially for fathers and other leaders as you lead your families and your people.
'Flummoxed & flabbergasted' at how facts and acts are intrinsically linked. Daniel's (& his three friends') great courage was the product their knowledge in the one & only Great God. Great book.
