For some, music is an escape from the everyday norm. For Aiden, it's his life's blood. From the moment he played his first guitar chord, Aiden see life for what it really is all about...the possibilities. Consumed by his belief that his God-given talent will take further than the "right thing" ever will, Aiden sets out on a journey determined to do one thing; prove his father wrong. With the help of his best friend, Aiden's escape from a life less ordinary begins with the blues and a guitar. Can he withstand the pressure of a musician's life or will the industry force him back into a life he's trying to escape?
"When Life Gives You Lemons, Throw Them Back and Scream, "Limes, Motherf&%$er, I Want Limes!"
It's not my quote but I live by it. *rebel*. Music and writing are my everything. Music influences everything that I do and write about. Without books and music, I could not breathe.
Just like any industry, the world of music has its mysterious inside. Only those that work in the music industry are privileged to know the ins and outs, ups and downs that accompany a music career. The author takes the reader on a wild ride inside a musician’s rise to fame. Like a roller coaster, the ride takes sharp turns and abrupt falls but Aiden keeps moving forward. This story is one that is told over and over again so it would seem familiar. However, Ms. Chanel has taken a completely different angle and made it a unique story again.
Throughout this story I found myself alternatively hating and loving Aiden. He makes some really stupid decisions and screws up his life hideously but you can’t help but root for him or slap him, I’m not sure which. The author has done a wonderful job creating real-life characters for us to support. As his friends weave in and out of his world, Aiden rearranges his relationships and completely changes himself so many times I almost lost track.
I hated that one key ingredient Aiden needed to make better choices was missing in his life and when you read this book you will know what I mean. There simply isn’t a replacement for this ingredient and I don’t think Aiden ever got over that.
In the end, I found this story very charming, fun to read and it gave me an insight into the music industry I didn’t know I needed. This isn’t just another rise to fame story, it’s a life changing event that just happens to be focused in the music industry. A definite must read.
The hero is very difficult to like and unfortunately we get his point of view. Moreover, I felt too much sorry for Sunny to be willing to continue the series. I don't want her to be pinning for him all along with their daughter. I just... can't. It was still an entertaining read and addicting thanks to the universe of the story. It is more about my personal preferences, I can't stand situation like this and as I read "Sunny doesn't completely trust her man and for good reason. Aiden may be ready to walk down the aisle but he definitely isn't ready to walk away from the bright spotlight. " in the summary of the last book I feel pretty sure about stopping there. I hate not to finish a story but I really don't want to have more of that...

This story was so good. Sunny and Aiden were so toxic and I loved it. I love how Aiden believes in himself and his talent. Sunny saw the genius in him and definitely did her all to make sure his dreams came true. Great story even with the typos in the beginning. I can’t r wait to read the next book in this series.
Review from Maddie of Divas Read Too I have stalled with reading this book until I just couldn’t stall any longer. I was about to lose a good friend if I didn’t read this book. I'm the last of the Divas to read UNTITLED and while we've all given it 5 Stars, I'm the only one who is completely obsessed with these characters. Once I started this book, I couldn’t put it down. Seriously, I was reading while cooking, at doctor’s appointments, and at work. There are so many positives about this book, so many life lessons…it’s awesome. Books that have characters that reel me in and make me still love them after I've closed the book are few and far between. With these characters, Aiden, Sunny, and his little sister, I feel like they are a part of my life now. Aiden IS THE MAN! Aiden is super hot and sexy with a whole lot of SWAG. He’s your ideal musician…think John Mayer with Idris Alba swagger. I love him! He’s a bit stubborn but determined and his determination to make it as a blues player – a white blues player – is the reason why the book is so good. Plus he gets all the girls…of course. Aiden gets a guitar for his 16th birthday, but not a regular guitar. It's an autographed Keith Richards’ guitar but he is pissed because he thought he was getting a car. He sticks it under his bed and forgets about it. He goes on doing his high school jock thing, but here’s the thing about Aiden. He hates football and he desperately wants to get out of his small “Truman Show” town. He wants to be different and extraordinary but it doesn’t look like that’s in the cards for him. His best friend, Paulie, the bi-racial son of a hippie single father introduces Aiden to the music of Jimi Hendrix and convinces him to learn how to play the guitar. Aiden’s obsessive personality leads him to dive head-first into discovering music in a way he never had before and playing his guitar. He’s a natural talent. Finally, there's something he’s really good at. When he starts to write his own songs, he decides that music is going to be his way out of a perfectly average and boring life. He moves to Atlanta and starts making music but his career is going nowhere fast. This is when I really fell in love with this book. After moving to Atlanta, (my neck of the woods) Aiden meets his neighbor, Sunny. At first, I didn't know if I was going to like this girl. She comes off as sarcastic and full of attitude in the beginning. Sunny speaks her mind and holds nothing back. After a few chapters, I realized what Sunny is. She is the anti-Aiden. Eventually, Sunny and Aiden become more than jus neighbors...hell, the become more than jus friends. Aiden is able to break down Sunny's hard exterior but is masterful about building his own walls when it comes to his feelings for her. As he jumps around from girl to girl, it's obvious that he's doing it just because he can't have the woman he wants. Not only does this book explore the rise to fame of Aiden but it’s a powerful angle on the difference between friends and friends with benefits. I love Sunny and Aiden together. They are a dynamic duo who get shit done. Aiden’s career would be nowhere without Sunny. I don’t do spoilers but the ending of this book was EVERYTHING! I love how the author gave us a 300+ page book and followed up with another full length novel. That's what I call a series!
This is the 3rd Indie book that I’ve read. So far my experience with Indie books has been AMAZING! Untitled* boosted my appreciation for indie writers.
Okay, the opening line lured me in. Of course being a teenager is hard and no one gets it. The book is told from the main character’s POV and Aiden is a trip! He’s the kind of character that you wish was real because you’d totally want to hang out with him. When I went to the author’s website after reading the description of the book, I was hesitant because the author is a girl. I haven’t read too many books that are told from a man’s perspective but written by a female that felt authentic. This one is one of the few.
Aiden IS THE MAN! Ther’es not a of description of the characters, ie what they look like, which I like. I like to use my imagination and in my mind, Aiden is super hot and sexy with a whole lot of SWAG. He’s your ideal musician…think John Mayer with Denzel swagger. I love him! He’s a bit stubborn but determined and his determination to make it as a blues player - a white blues player - is the reason why the book is so good. Plus he gets all the girls…of course.
Of course, Aiden isn't the only character that sucks you in. There's the ever-present Delilah, Aiden's sister who he affectionately calls "Dee-Lee" (how cute is that?). She is the cutest little sister EVER and she loves her brother no matter what. She's a girly girl who doesn't sweat the small stuff, not even when her brother is being an ass.
Kat and the Rabbit's Blues Lounge family are all talented musicians who believe in Aiden's talent and help him achieve his dreams. Kat is the Southern black "mom" that is always there when her "skinny white boy" needs some good old-fashioned home training.
Then there's Sunny. Sunny speaks her mind and holds nothing back. She is the anti-Aiden. Their relationship, from the very first meeting, is full-time DRAMA. But underneath her hard exterior is a person who loves, cares, and doesn't like to deal with her emotions, especially when it comes to Aiden.
Untitled* is not YA but it will appeal to young adult readers. Be careful though because the language is definitely adult and it’s got some pretty steamy sex scenes which are a little raunchy but not over the top.
It’s a book about a musician who is inspired mostly by Jimi Hendrix and Hendrix fans and blues fans will appreciate the references and respect that Jackie Chanel gives to some of the greatest blues musicians of all time. I loved all the musical references which are a plenty. Untitled* will have you cheering, crying, laughing, and shaking your head, from one page to another.

I hate to say this because I really wanted to like this book but it was just not my cup of tea. I knew that it was going to be a problem when I started skimming the book. I would say around 50% is when I felt that I was going to throw in the towel, however I hate actually paying for a book and not finishing.
So I continued and still nothing was catching and even at around 97% when sunny finally told part of the truth I so over it I could careless at at that point.
The book told all about Aiden's rise to fame and the struggle getting there.. That was what I was excited about however I didn't know that it would go over every single detail in his career, I think this is the first time I have ever read a book hoping that I would see " 2 years later...."
I get the back and forth between the Aiden and Sunny but after a while it's like okay something needs to happen or not happen yet it continued through the whole entire freaking book. I even got a sample of the second book and read the first 15 pages and it's still the same.
Unfortunately I won't be finishing this set of books.
Aidan would have been in my head Model Justin Zabinski and Sunny would have been Jurnee Smollett
I still love, love, love this story. I'm rereading to refresh my memory before the next installment of this series comes out, and it still has the same effect on me from the first time I read it. This book definitely read a like a movie, and it pulls at every emotion in your body. Aiden is still one of my favorite characters, even though in the very first one , he did some things to piss me off major, I still loved him. Yet, no one pissed me off as much as Sunny did, with her major attitudes and not knowing how to express how she really felt self. Their relationship was like a rollercoaster with all the twists and turns, but I'm glad it was a ride they ended up on together. Of course the supporting characters brought this whole book together. Sara, Delilah, Paulie, Erica, Kat, Joey, and a host of others. Aiden is just a star, even though it took time and sacrifices to get there, he did, and deserved it all. Great book again, and I'm on to refresh myself on the rest of the series. If you haven't read this series yet, you've got to check it out!
This is not a love story this is more of a coming of age story Aidan really needs to grow up he gets on my nerves all through this book he makes bad decisions but you can't help but root for him . He has a good and Generous heart. Sunny is a mess also I waited the whole book for a romance to start between them and you have to wait the entire book. I will stop complaining because this is a good book and I am anxious for the next book to written so I can read about their romance. This book kind of keeps you on the edge of your seat .
I loved this story. The characters were amazingly real. They had good days and bad days, they made good decisions and some really bad ones and yet life goes on and things work themselves out.
I loved watching Aiden grow as a person and as a musician. I can't wait for the 2nd book to see how the story continues.
Where to start? Aiden was REALLY hard to like. He's an arrogant, self-centered, alcoholic whore. Sunny, Kat, Sara, and DeeLee were the opposite - totally likable characters. Although it was an interesting story and I wanted to know how it turned out, it seemed to drag on. The intense need for editing often interrupted the flow of the story. It was good, but wasn't life-changing.
Wow! Not really sure what I expected from this book! I personally thought this was a good book! This was the first book I shed a tear. You have to check this book out for yourself! I do recommend and it was a good read! Very pleased with this author.
Simply super read. This story is so realistic and wonderfully written by the author, am amazed I've not read her books before now. I wish JC will give us the sequel to 'Untitled' very, very soon!!! If you have not read this book, do yourself a favor, pick it up and read.
I couldn't put this book down. It's one of my favorites and I've read it many times! It will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time. Sex, love, and Rock N Roll... what else could you want?
