Roy McKie (October 8, 1921 – January 8, 2015) was an American writer and illustrator of children's books.
McKie's illustration work for and friendship with legendary Random House publisher Bennett Cerf led to an introduction to “Ted” Geisel, who was looking for an illustrator. Geisel and McKie hit it off, and as a result, McKie provided artwork for several titles by Dr. Seuss.
I thought it was interesting that the author/illustrator had Noah off working in the field when he got his call to build an ark. Why is it that the animals are listed as only having two of each kind loaded onto the ark? Two is the amount of the "unclean animals" and "clean" animals and birds" should be listed as having seven gathered onto the ark. A unique detail is that this book listed the name of the mountain that the ark finally rested upon after the rain water dissipated. The book had cute, simple illustrations.
